Montgomery County police said two males shot a man and woman while robbing an apartment in Chevy Chase early Monday.

Police said the man and the woman, who they did not identify, were taken to local hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The males, whose faces were hidden, entered the apartment and fought the man and woman, before shooting them, police said. At least one of the intruders had a gun, police said.

Police are trying to find the robbers.

They said officers responded to the shooting around 4:05 a.m. in the 8400 block of Chevy Chase Lake Terrace, shortly after it happened. Online searches only list the Lindley Apartments on that block.

Police did not give additional details Tuesday morning.

Police said they are investigating the incident as a home invasion robbery and don’t believe it was random.

Police are asking anyone with additional information to call them at 240-773-5100 or call Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477 for a possible reward of up to $10,000.
