Police Blotter: Thirteen vehicle thefts reported in Bethesda area; 12 vehicle thefts reported in Silver Spring area

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money and property were taken from four vehicles between Oct. 4 and 9. Affected streets included Willow Lane, Glenbrook Road, Maple Avenue and Woodmont Avenue.
  • Money and property were taken from four vehicles between Oct. 2 and 7. Affected streets included Saul Road, Traymore Street, Drumm Avenue and Edgewood Road.
  • Money, property and a part were taken from four vehicles between Sept. 28 and Oct. 9. Affected streets included Kingswood Road, Nicholson Lane, Marinelli Road and Grosvenor Place. Force was reported in three cases.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 5 and 9. Affected streets included Yorktown Road, Dorset Avenue, Cumberland Avenue, Redford Road, Springfield Drive and Rannoch Road.
  • Money and property were taken from four vehicles between Oct. 2 and 7. Affected streets included the 7800 block of English Way and the 9800 block of Clydesdale Street.
  • Property and parts were taken from three vehicles between Oct. 13 and 15. Affected streets included Brookville Road, Perkins Place and Wisconsin Avenue. Force was reported.
  • Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 9 and 16. Affected streets included Woodmont Avenue, Chestnut Street, Highland Avenue, Rosedale Avenue and Tilbury Street. Force was reported in four cases.
  • Parts were taken from two vehicles between Oct. 12 and 14. The thefts happened in the 9600 block of Parkwood Drive and the 3800 block of Dupont Avenue. Force was reported in one case.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 10 and 14. Affected streets included Glenwood Road, Roosevelt Street, Dudley Court, Danbury Road, Bristol Square Lane and Madison Street.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 8900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue between noon on Oct. 5 and 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 6. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 6.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 7700 block of Wisconsin Avenue between Oct. 1 and 4. A key was reportedly left inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the area of Leland and 46th streets around 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 5. The thief was arrested.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 7000 block of Arlington Road early on Oct. 9.
  • Two vehicles were taken from a home in the 9800 block of Parkwood Drive between 11 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 3. Keys were reportedly left inside both vehicles. The vehicles were recovered on Oct. 7.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 9800 block of Broad Street between 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 3. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. It was recovered the next day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 6000 block of Cairn Terrace between 11 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 9:38 a.m. on Oct. 9.
  • Two vehicles were taken from a home in the 10100 block of Logan Drive between midnight and 8 a.m. on Oct. 7. Both vehicles were reportedly left unlocked with the keys inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 3500 block of Taylor Street between 11 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 14. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 14.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike between 8 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 15. It was recovered on Oct. 15.
  • A vehicle was taken in the first block of Shagbark Court early on Oct. 15.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 10000 block of River Road between 4 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 10.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 10600 block of Stable Lane between 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 and 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 12. It was recovered on Oct. 13.

Strong-arm robbery

  • Two teenage boys assaulted a boy and took his property in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard around 3:11 p.m. on Oct. 5. The teens were arrested.

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money and property were taken from three vehicles early on Oct. 5. Affected streets included Hillbrooke Lane, Daphney House Way and Kersey Lane.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 4 and 8. Affected streets included Hidden Glen Lane, Natia Manor Drive, Falling Leaf Way, Wild Bird Terrace, Falling Leaf Court, Doe Lane, Saddleview Drive, Buckeye Drive and Falconbridge Terrace.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 15200 block of Jones Lane between 6 p.m. on Oct. 11 and 6:47 p.m. on Oct. 12.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken from Ourisman Lexus at 15501 Frederick Road between 9:40 a.m. on Oct. 8 and 5:15 a.m. on Oct. 9. Force was reported. Keys were taken and used to steal the vehicle. It was recovered the same day.
  • A motorcycle was taken in the 10300 block of Procera Drive early on Oct. 4.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 14300 block of Potomac Heights Lane early on Oct. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 5.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8900 block of Liberty Lane between 12:30 a.m. and 11:04 a.m. on Oct. 7. A key was reportedly left inside. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 9.
  • A vehicle was taken from a home in the 13800 block of Hidden Glen Lane between 9 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 14000 block of Natia Manor Drive between 10 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 7:15 a.m. on Oct. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 7.
  • Two vehicles were taken from the garage of a home in the 12900 block of Buckeye Drive between 9 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 6. The garage door was reportedly left open and keys were used to steal the vehicles. The vehicles were recovered on Oct. 6 and 9.

Armed robbery

  • Multiple people assaulted a boy and took his property in the 7900 block of Yellowstone Way around 3 p.m. on Oct. 6. One robber displayed a weapon.
  • Someone took money and merchandise from a 7-Eleven in the 200 block of Derwood Circle early on Oct. 12. The robber displayed a weapon.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and a part were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 29 and Oct. 7. Affected streets included Grey Castle Way, Stateside Court, Tenbrook Drive, Dilston Road and University Boulevard East. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property and a part were taken from four vehicles between Oct. 2 and 7. Affected streets included Oak Leaf Drive, February Circle and Lockwood Drive. Force was reported two cases.
  • Parts were taken from a vehicle in the 800 block of Easley Street between 10 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 6 a.m. on Oct. 5. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from four vehicles between Oct. 10 and 16. Affected streets included the 900 block of Thayer Avenue and the 8100 through 8600 blocks of Fenton Street. Force was reported in three cases.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 8600 block of Georgia Avenue around 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 6. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue early on Oct. 7. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 100 block of Schuyler Road between 5 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 6. It was recovered on Oct. 6.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 900 block of Northampton Drive between 10:45 and 11 p.m. on Oct. 8. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 1200 block of East West Highway between 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 11 and 3 p.m. on Oct. 12.
  • A vehicle was taken in the area of Cameron Street and Georgia Avenue around 8 p.m. on Oct. 12. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 800 block of Easley Street around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14. A key was reportedly left inside. The vehicle was recovered four days later.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue around 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 16. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 100 block of Croydon Court between 9 p.m. on Oct. 10 and 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 11. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard between noon on Oct. 11 and 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 12. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 17.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 14400 block of Burslem Terrace between 9 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 5 a.m. on Oct. 14. It was recovered on Oct. 14.

Carjacking

  • Two males took a man’s vehicle in the area of Barron and Gilbert streets around 5:45 a.m. on Oct. 16.

Armed robberies

  • Someone assaulted a girl and took her property in the area of Sligo and Chicago avenues around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. The robber implied that he had a weapon.
  • Someone stole money from 7-Eleven in the 11300 block of Lockwood Drive around 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 9. The robber displayed a weapon.

Commercial burglaries

  • Two people took money and property from Total Wireless at 651 University Blvd. East early on Oct. 5. Force was reported.

Strong arm robbery

  • A man assaulted a man and took his money and property in the 800 block of East Wayne Avenue around 4 p.m. on Oct. 7. The robber was arrested.

Aggravated assault

  • A man assaulted a woman in the 8400 block of Colesville Road around 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 14. He displayed a weapon. The attacker was arrested.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 10100 block of Little Pond Place between 6 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 8.
  • Parts were taken from two vehicles between Sept. 26 and Oct. 5. The thefts happened in the 8200 block of Streamside Place and the 7600 block of Airpark Road. Force was reported.
  • Money and property were taken from two vehicles between Oct. 11 and 14. The thefts happened in the 12200 block of McDonald Chapel Drive and the 16000 block of Charles Hill Drive.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 17000 block of Oakmont Avenue early on Oct. 13.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 15200 block of Siesta Key Way between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Oct. 5. The vehicle was recovered five days later.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 9600 block of Kanfer Court between 8 and 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 7. A key was reportedly left inside the vehicle. It was recovered the same day.

Strong arm robbery

  • Two males assaulted a boy and took his property in the 17800 block of Washington Grove Lane around 7 p.m. on Oct. 13.
