Police Blotter: Thefts from Vehicles in Bethesda Neighborhoods; Three Vehicles Stolen in Silver Spring

Crimes reported to Montgomery County and Rockville police from Feb. 17 through Feb. 23

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property were taken from multiple vehicles during the reporting period. Thefts occurred on Spencer, Ross, Sleaford and Grubb roads, Saint Elmo, West Virginia, Michigan and Washington avenues and Colston Drive. Forced entry was reported in four events.

Strong-arm robbery

Two suspects assaulted and took a male victim’s property in the 1900 block of East West Highway the morning of Feb. 19.

Residential garage burglary

Cash and property were taken from a garage in the 9400 block of Seven Locks Road the morning of Feb. 17. Cash and property were also taken from three vehicles at the residence. No forced entry was reported, the garage door and vehicles were reportedly left unlocked.

Rockville

Theft from a vehicle

Property was taken from a vehicle in the 6700 block of Needwood Road between 2:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. Feb. 19. No forced entry was reported.

Vehicle theft

A vehicle was taken from the 14400 block of Traville Garden Circle between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 18. Entry was not known.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from three vehicles between Feb. 20 and Feb. 23. One theft occurred in the 9700 block of Mount Pisgah Road and two in the 1400 block of Hampshire West Court. Forced entry was reported.

Cash and property were taken from three vehicles between Feb. 18 and Feb. 21. Thefts occurred on New Hampshire Avenue, Stewart Lane, and Old Columbia Pike. Forced entry was reported in one event.

Commercial burglaries

Merchandise was taken from Marshalls at at 8661 Colesville Road at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 20. No forced entry was reported. Police arrested the suspect.

Property was taken from the Unique Thrift Store at 10121 New Hampshire Avenue between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Feb. 19. Forced entry was not reported, a door was reportedly left unlocked.

Armed robbery

Two suspects took a male victim’s cash in the 8100 block of Fenton Street the morning of Feb. 23. One suspect displayed a weapon.

Strong-arm robbery

A suspect assaulted a female victim and took her property in the 11300 block of Columbia Pike at 10:27 p.m. Feb. 17.

Vehicle thefts

A vehicle was taken from the 500 block of Thayer Avenue between 9 p.m. Feb. 19 and noon Feb. 20. Entry was not known.

A vehicle was taken from the 100 block of Schuyler Road between 7 p.m. Feb. 19 and 11 a.m. Feb. 20. Entry was not known. The vehicle was found Feb. 22.

A vehicle was taken from the 3900 block of Blackburn Lane between 12:17 a.m. and 1:33 a.m. Feb. 23. Entry was not known.
