Police Blotter: Six Vehicle Thefts in Silver Spring

Crimes reported to Montgomery County police, Nov. 24 through Nov. 30

Bethesda area

Thefts from vehicles

Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Nov. 23 and 27. Affected streets included Derby Ridge Lane, Blaine Drive, Connecticut Avenue and Daniel Road. Force was reported in two cases.

Money and property were taken from two vehicles between 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 26. One theft occurred in the 4500 block of Gladwyne Drive and the other occurred in the 4400 block of West Virginia Avenue.

Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Nov. 21 and 26. Affected streets included Bangor, Cushing and Lone Oak drives. Force was reported in one case.

Money and property were taken from four vehicles between 6 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 830 a.m. on Nov. 26. Affected streets included Anniston Road and Ewing Drive.

Strong-arm robbery

Property was taken from a woman in the 8500 block of Connecticut Avenue around 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The robber was arrested.

Vehicle thefts

A vehicle was taken from a home in the 11300 block of Kenilworth Avenue between 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 9:43 a.m. on Nov. 25. A door was reported to have been unlocked and the car keys were taken. It was recovered Nov. 27.

A vehicle was taken from a home in the 4500 block of Cumberland Avenue around 5:15 a.m. on Nov. 29. A door was reported to have been left unlocked and the car keys were taken.

Burglary

Property was taken from a home on the 7300 block of Arrowood Road early on Nov. 27. Forced entry was reported.

Rockville area

Burglary

Property was taken from a home in the 12900 block of Twinbrook Parkway between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 25. A window was reported to have been left unlocked.

Silver Spring area

Thefts from vehicles

Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Nov. 26 and 28. Affected streets included East West Highway, Cameron Street and Wayne Avenue. Force was reported in three cases.

Property was taken from four vehicles between Nov. 19 and 26. Affected streets included Markham Street, University Boulevard West and Ruppert Road. Force was reported in one case.

Property was taken from multiple vehicles between Nov. 23 and 28. Affected streets included Cherry Hill Road, Bellevue Street, Red Lion Lane and Hawkshead Terrace. Force was reported in one case.

Vehicle thefts

A vehicle was taken in the 8500 block of Fenton Street between 4:08 and 4:22 p.m. on Nov. 25. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the key in the ignition.

A vehicle was taken in the 800 block of Easley Street between 6:59 a.m. on Nov. 29 and 12:50 a.m. on Nov. 30.

A vehicle was taken in the 2100 block of Dexter Avenue between 12:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Nov. 24.

A vehicle was taken in the 500 block of Beacon Road between 1:16 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Nov. 30. It was recovered the same day.

A vehicle was taken in the 10700 block of Lorain Avenue between 3 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. on Nov. 28.

A vehicle was taken in the 14600 block of Blackburn Road between noon and 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 28.

Strong-arm robbery

Money and property were taken from a woman in the 15500 block of Old Columbia Pike around 10 p.m. Nov. 30.

Burglary

Property was taken from a storage container at Paint Branch High School at 14121 Old Columbia Pike between midnight on Nov. 22 and 8:31 a.m. on Nov. 25. Force was reported.
