Crimes reported to Montgomery County police between Sept. 6 and 12

Rockville area

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money was taken from a vehicle in the 12300 block of Falls Road between 6 and 9 p.m. on Sept. 12. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 15700 block of River Road between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Commercial burglaries

  • Money and property were taken from Atlantic Parking at 12721 Twinbrook Parkway between 5 p.m. Sept. 4 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 8.
  • Merchandise was taken from Bretton Woods Tennis Shop at 15700 River Road between 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 12. Force was reported.

Bethesda area

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from three vehicles between Sept. 6 and 8. Affected streets included Connecticut Avenue, Underwood Street and Farrell Drive. Force was reported in one case.
  • Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 7800 block of Wisconsin Avenue around 8 p.m. on Sept. 9. Force was reported.
  • Money was taken from three vehicles between Sept. 6 and 10. Two thefts happened in the 9700 block of Hillridge Drive and the 3400 block of Wake Drive.
  • Money and property were taken from two vehicles in the 5900 block of Greenlawn Drive between 11:25 a.m. and 11:41 a.m. on Sept. 9.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 6 and 10. Affected streets included River Road, Yorktown Road, Wissioming Road, Searl Terrace, Cromwell Drive, Tuscarawas Road and Sentinel Drive. Force was reported in one case.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 7 and 9. Affected streets included Galsworthy Place, Taveshire Way, Langhorne Court and Lincoln Street.
  • Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 6400 block of Rock Spring Drive around 7:39 p.m. on Sept. 10.
  • Money and property were taken from two vehicles between 10 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 7. The thefts happened in the 9700 block of Conestoga Way and the 9700 block of Sotweed Drive.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 2300 block of Kansas Avenue between 5:30 a.m. and noon on Sept. 10.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 4100 block of Dresden Street between 7 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 8. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 10.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike around 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 11. The thieves reportedly took the key and used it to steal the vehicle. It was recovered on Sept. 16.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 5600 block of Bradley Avenue between 8 a.m. on Sept. 8 and noon on Sept. 9.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 7700 block of Oldchester Road early on Sept. 9. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside. It was recovered the same day.

Silver Spring area

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 6 and 12. Affected streets included Wayne Avenue, Georgia Avenue, Colesville Road, 2nd Avenue and 13th Street. Force was reported in four cases.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles between Sept. 4 and 8. The thefts happened in the 2100 block of Westview Terrace and the 9200 block of Long Branch Parkway. Force was reported in one case.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 8 and 11. Affected streets included Garland Avenue, Greenwood Avenue, Weaver Street, Linton Street, Prospect Street and McAlpine Road. Force was reported in three cases.
  • Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 5 and 11. Affected streets included Cherry Tree Lane, Waterford Road, Brookmoor Drive, Parkman Road, Big Rock Road, St. Lawrence Drive, Colesville Road, Hampshire Green Lane and Mt. Pisgah Road. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 4 and 12. Affected streets included Heather Hollow Circle, Old Columbia Pike, East Shaw Avenue, Waldo Lane and Chathlake Lane. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property was taken from three vehicles between 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 and noon on Sept. 12. Affected streets included Castle Boulevard, Cedar Tree Lane and Isleswood Terrace. Force was reported in one case.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the area of Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road around 9:31 a.m. on Sept. 10. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A motorcycle was taken in the 1300 block of Dilston Road between 2 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 7.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 9700 block of Braddock Road early on Sept. 12. It was recovered the same day.

Armed robbery

  • Four people took property from three adults in the 7700 block of Blair Road early on Sept. 6. One of the robbers displayed a weapon and assaulted one of the victims.

Aggravated assault

  • Someone tried to steal merchandise from H&M at 8518 Fenton St. around 4:03 p.m. on Sept. 6. The intruder, who was armed, assaulted an employee who tried to stop them.
