Police Blotter: Seven vehicle thefts reported in Silver Spring area

Crimes reported to Montgomery County police between May 16 and 22

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from three vehicles between 5 p.m. on May 20 and 7:50 a.m. on May 21. Affected streets included Glendale Road, East West Highway and Williams Lane.
  • Property was taken from multiple vehicles between May 15 and 17. Affected streets included Orleans Court, Oxford Street, Dickens Avenue and Woodglen Drive.
  • Money and property were taken from four vehicles between May 15 and 22. Affected streets included Loch Lomond Drive, Vassar Circle, Massachusetts Avenue and Clara Barton Parkway. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from three vehicles between May 15 and 22. Affected streets included Wolftree Lane, Sinnott Drive and Democracy Boulevard.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 7400 block of Glenbrook Road between 7:30 p.m. on May 15 and 9:50 a.m. on May 16. It was recovered on May 16.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 7700 block of Tomlinson Avenue between 9 p.m. on May 19 and 7:30 a.m. on May 20.
  • A vehicle was taken from a home in the first block of Hitching Post Place around 5:15 a.m. on May 16.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 11600 block of Split Rail Court between 10:30 p.m. on May 15 and 6:30 a.m. on May 16. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 11500 block of Hitching Post Lane between midnight and 10 a.m. on May 16. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered the same day.

Commercial burglaries

  • Property was taken from Liquidity Services at 6931 Arlington Blvd. early on May 16. Force was reported.
  • Merchandise was taken from Carroll Mart at 8505 Connecticut Ave. between 7 p.m. on May 16 and 7:57 a.m. on May 17. Force was reported.

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from four vehicles between May 14 and 22. Affected streets included Pebblewood Place, Pebblewood Drive, the area of Darnestown Road and American Way, and Stonecutter Court. Force was reported in one case.

Vehicle theft

  • A vehicle was taken in the 10500 block of Orchard Valley Drive between 12:15 and 7:43 a.m. on May 20.

Commercial burglary

  • Five people took property from Rockville Tire and Auto at 16077 Frederick Road early on May 20. Force was reported.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between May 13 and 20. Affected streets included Georgia Avenue, East West Highway, Sligo Avenue, Chicago Avenue, Philadelphia Avenue and Ellsworth Drive. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between May 14 and 21. Affected streets included Long Branch Parkway, Tilton Drive and Three Oaks Drive. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue between 4 p.m. on May 17 and 6:30 a.m. on May 18. Force was reported.
  • Money was taken from a vehicle in the 9700 block of East Light Drive early on May 16.
  • Property and a part were taken from two vehicles between May 17 and 21. The thefts happened in the 12600 block of Laurie Drive and the 12100 block of Sweet Clover Drive. Force was reported in one case.
  • A part was taken from a vehicle in the 3900 block of Blackburn Lane between 9 p.m. on May 5 and 7 a.m. on May 6. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 8000 block of 13th Street around 10:56 p.m. on May 19. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered on May 20.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8500 block of Fenton Street around 4:25 p.m. on May 21. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. It was recovered on May 23.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 800 block of Northampton Drive around 6:55 p.m. on May 18. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered on May 20.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 2300 block of Broadbirch Drive early on May 17.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 2000 block of Aquamarine Terrace early on May 21.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 12100 block of Sweet Clover Drive between 4:15 and 4:40 p.m. on May 21. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A motor scooter was taken in the 13800 block of Outlet Drive around 10 a.m. on May 18.

Armed robbery

  • Two people took property from a man in the 10000 block of Colesville Road around 11:47 a.m. on May 21. One of the robbers displayed a weapon and assaulted the man.

Commercial burglary

  • Merchandise was taken from House of Cards Sports Memorabilia at 2301 Broadbirch Drive early on May 16. Force was reported.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Parts were taken from a vehicle in the 18700 block of Nathans Place between midnight on May 19 and 5:30 p.m. on May 20. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from three vehicles in the 19200 block of Thomas Farm Road between May 16 and 19. Force was reported in two cases.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles between May 16 and 21. The thefts happened in the 18600 block of Mallory Place and the 7400 block of Hadley Farms Drive.

Residential burglary

  • Property was taken from a home in the 17000 block of King James Way around 11:06 p.m. on May 18. A door was reportedly left unlocked.

Commercial burglary

  • Property was taken from a shed at the Interdenominational Church of God at 19201 Woodfield Road between 5 p.m. on May 14 and 6:48 p.m. on May 17. Force was reported.
