Police Blotter: Seven vehicle thefts in Bethesda area, 11 in Silver Spring area

Crimes reported to Montgomery County police Dec. 20 through Jan. 2

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)
Thefts from vehicles
• Money and property were taken from two vehicles in the 10900 through 11500 blocks of Deborah Drive between 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 20.
• Money and property were taken from three vehicles between 3 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 31. Affected streets included Needwood Road, Mistic View Court and Eagles Head Court.
Vehicle thefts
• A vehicle was taken in the 15900 block of Frederick Road between 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 11 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)
Thefts from vehicles
• Money and property were taken from four vehicles between Dec. 19 and 26. Affected streets included East West Highway, Meadowbrook Lane and Brennon Lane. Force was reported in one case.
• Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 1 and 26. Affected streets included the 10300 through 11500 blocks of Rockville Pike and the 12000 block of Nebel Street. Force was reported in four cases.
• Property and parts were taken from three vehicles between Dec. 19 and 25. Affected streets included Cayuga Avenue, Bristol Square Lane and Dudley Lane. Force was reported in two cases.
• Property was taken from three vehicles between 2 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 20. Two thefts happened in the 10400 block of Windsor View Drive and the other happened in the 8900 block of Brickyard Road.
• Money was taken from three vehicles between Dec. 26 and 29. Affected streets included Connecticut Avenue, Rosemary Street and Meadow Lane.
• Money and parts were taken from three vehicles between Dec. 24 and Jan. 1. The thefts happened in the 11400 block of Commonwealth Drive and the 5400 block of Tuckerman Lane. Force was reported in two cases.
• Property was taken from two vehicles between Dec. 26 and 29. The thefts happened in the 4700 block of Locust Hill Court and the 10900 block of Devin Place.
• Money and property were taken from three vehicles between Dec. 27 and 29. Affected streets included MacArthur Boulevard, River Road and Hunt Avenue.
• Money, property and parts were taken from two vehicles between Dec. 29 and 31. The thefts happened in the 8300 block of Meadowlark Lane and the first block of Pooks Hill Road. Force was reported.
• Property was taken from four vehicles between Dec. 29 and Jan. 2. Affected streets included Stable Lane, the area of River Road and Falls Road, Rivers Bend Lane and Charleston Court.
Vehicle thefts
• A vehicle was taken in the 3800 block of Club Drive between 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 20. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside.
• A vehicle was taken in the 3500 block of Bradley Lane between 8 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 11:29 p.m. on Dec. 26. It was recovered on Dec. 27.
• A vehicle was taken in the 10700 block of Symphony Park Drive between 9 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 25. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside.
• A vehicle was taken in the 5700 block of Massachusetts Avenue early on Dec. 22. It was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside.
• A vehicle was taken from a home in the 6800 block of Connecticut Avenue between 7 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 29.
• A vehicle was taken in the 8800 block of Lanier Drive between 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 11:41 a.m. on Jan. 1. The vehicle was recovered on Jan. 2.
• A vehicle was taken from a home in the 9100 block of Hollyoak Drive between 6 p.m. on Jan. 1 and 11 a.m. on Jan. 2.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)
Thefts from vehicles
• Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 18 and 24. Affected streets included 16th Street, Eastern Avenue, High Park Lane, Wayne Avenue, the area of Cameron Street and Fenton Street, and Colesville Road. Force was reported in multiple cases.
• Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 21 and 26. Affected streets included Brisbane Street, Woodside Parkway, Fairview Road, Colesville Road, Belvedere Boulevard, Dublin Drive, Noyes Lane and Green Holly Terrace. Force was reported in three cases.
• Money and property were taken from three vehicles between Dec. 14 and 22. Affected streets included Powder Mill Road, New Hampshire Avenue and Northwest Drive.
• Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 20 and 24. Affected streets included Old Columbia Pike, Brahms Terrace, Childress Terrace, Cedar Tree Drive and National Drive. Force was reported in two cases.
• Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 27 and Jan. 2. Affected streets included the area of Piney Branch Road and Sligo Avenue, Devon Road, Dartmouth Avenue, Thayer Avenue, Queen Annes Drive, Bonifant Street and Fidler Lane. Force was reported in two cases.
• Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 27 and Jan. 1. Affected streets included August Drive, Conover Drive, Flowering Tree Terrace, Hanover Street, Douglas Avenue, Noyes Lane and Hildarose Drive. Force was reported in one case.
• Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 25 and 30. Affected streets included Heather Hollow Circle, Stewart Lane, Regent Manor Court and November Circle. Force was reported in two cases.
• Parts were taken from two vehicles between Dec. 29 and 31. The thefts happened in the 2800 block of Strauss Terrace and the 3100 block of Automobile Boulevard. Force was reported in one case.
Vehicle thefts
• A vehicle was taken in the area of Georgia Avenue and Cameron Street between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 21.
• A vehicle was taken in the 800 block of Ellsworth Drive around 2:01 p.m. on Dec. 22. It was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside. The vehicle was recovered on Dec. 23.
• A vehicle was taken in the area of Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive around 4:49 p.m. on Dec. 26. It was reportedly left unlocked with the key in the ignition.
• A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue around 4 p.m. on Dec. 24. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
• A vehicle was taken in the first block of Springvale Lane between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 20. A key was reportedly left inside. The vehicle was recovered the next day.
• A vehicle was taken in the 500 block of Beacon Road between 3 and 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 25. It was recovered the same day.
• A vehicle was taken in the 3300 block of Parkford Manor Terrace between 6 p.m. on Dec. 21 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 24.
• A vehicle was taken in the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue around 2 p.m. on Dec. 27. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key fob inside.
• A vehicle was taken in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue between 4:30 and 5:35 p.m. on Jan. 2.
• A vehicle was taken in the 9300 block of Flower Avenue around 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 31. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running.
• A vehicle was taken in the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way between 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 31.
Commercial burglaries
• Someone took merchandise from Rose’s Beer & Wine at 961 Bonifant St. early on Dec. 24. Force was reported. The intruder was arrested.
• Someone took money from New Styles Beauty Supply at 11411 Lockwood Drive early on Dec. 23. Force was reported.
• Someone tried to break into New Hampshire Estates Elementary School at 8720 Carroll Ave. between 7 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 29.
• Merchandise was taken from HomeSmart at 1600 Elton Road early on Dec. 29.
• Someone broke into Springbrook High School at 201 Valley Brook Drive around 7:48 p.m. on Dec. 30. They did not take anything.
Armed robbery
• Two people took merchandise from Dollar General at 13817 Outlet Drive around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 22. One of the robbers displayed a weapon when an employee tried to stop them.
Aggravated assault
• Someone assaulted a man in the area of Fenwick Lane and 2nd Avenue around 6:29 a.m. on Dec. 31. The attacker displayed a weapon.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)
Thefts from vehicles
• Money, property and parts were taken from three vehicles between Dec. 21 and 23. Affected streets included Horizon Run, Lost Knife Circle and Contour Road. Force was reported in one case.
• Property was taken from two vehicles between Dec. 11 and 23. The thefts happened in the 10000 block of Stedwick Road and the area of Arrowhead Road and Spur Hill Drive. Force was reported in one case.
• Money and property were taken from two vehicles in the 16800 block of Chestnut Street between 6 p.m. on Jan. 1 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 2.
• Parts were taken from two vehicles in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle between Dec. 25 and 30. Force was reported in one case.
• Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Dec. 27 and Jan. 2. Affected streets included Ravenglass Way, Arrowhead Road, Apple Ridge Road, Stedwick Road, Montgomery Village Avenue and Bremerton Way. Force was reported in four cases.

Vehicle thefts
• A motorcycle was taken in the 19000 block of Capehart Drive between 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 22.
• A vehicle was taken in the area of Club House and Watkins Mill roads between 6 a.m. on Dec. 28 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 29.
• A vehicle was taken in the 19200 block of Chennault Way between 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.
• A vehicle was taken in the 7500 block of Rickenbacker Drive between 10 a.m. on Dec. 27 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 28.
Armed robbery
• Someone took money from a 7-Eleven convenience store at 15900 Shady Grove Road around 6:08 a.m. on Jan. 2. The robber displayed a weapon.
Commercial burglary
• Property was taken from North Creek Community Center at 20125 Arrowhead Road between midnight on Dec. 19 and 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 20. Force was reported.
