Police Blotter: Four vehicle thefts reported in Bethesda area

Crimes reported to Montgomery County police between March 14 and 20

Police-Car

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 3900 block of Kincaid Terrace between 2:30 and 4 p.m. on March 12.
  • Parts were taken from multiple vehicles between March 15 and 19. Affected streets included Hampton Mill Terrace, Grosvenor Place, the area of Wentworth Place and McGrath Boulevard, and Rockville Pike. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Money and property were taken from two vehicles between March 14 and 17. The thefts happened in the 6200 block of Winnebago Road and the 4900 block of Sentinel Drive.
  • Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles in the first block of Pooks Hill Road between March 17 and 19. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 10500 block of Westlake Drive between 8 p.m. on March 14 and 9:45 a.m. on March 15. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 7200 block of Fairfax Road between 4 p.m. on March 17 and 10 a.m. on March 18.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 5200 block of Duvall Drive between 6 and 11:05 p.m. on March 14. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 5300 block of Westbard Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 19. Force was reported.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 7500 block of Honeywell Lane between 4 p.m. on March 18 and 12:30 a.m. on March 19.

Armed robbery

  • Two people took property from a man in the 8600 block of 16th Street around 10:26 p.m. on March 14. One of the robbers displayed a weapon.

Commercial burglaries

  • Money was taken from Development Innovations Group at 4330 East West Highway between 3 p.m. on March 16 and 10 a.m. on March 17.
  • Money and property were taken from Mind Algn at 7920 Norfolk Ave. between 6:30 p.m. on March 17 and 8:20 a.m. on March 18.

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)

Armed robbery

  • Two people took merchandise from Old Navy at 12017 Rockville Pike around 5:07 p.m. on March 18. One of the robbers displayed a weapon when an employee tried to stop them.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between March 13 and 20. Affected streets included Eastern Avenue, the area of Bonifant Street and Fenton Street, Georgia Avenue, 13th Street, East West Highway, High Park Lane, Wayne Avenue and Nolte Avenue. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Parts were taken from two vehicles between March 18 and 20. The thefts happened in the 1900 block of Lyttonsville Road and the 9400 block of Garwood Street. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles between March 14 and 19. The thefts happened in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road and the 1000 block of Ruatan Street. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles between March 17 and 20. The thefts happened in the 600 block of Sonata Way and the 1500 block of Dilston Road.
  • Parts were taken from a vehicle in the 13700 block of Colgate Way between 9 p.m. on March 15 and 6 p.m. on March 16. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 700 block of Silver Spring Avenue between 10:39 p.m. on March 13 and 4:23 a.m. on March 14. It was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside. The vehicle was recovered on March 14.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 15400 block of Old Columbia Pike early on March 13.

Strong-arm robbery

  • Three people took property from a woman in the area of Fenton and Cameron streets around 8:09 p.m. on March 16 and assaulted her.

Commercial burglaries

  • Property was taken from The Bonifant at 929 Bonifant St. early on March 18. Force was reported.
  • Merchandise was taken from Sears at 11255 New Hampshire Ave. early on March 15. Force was reported.
  • Money and merchandise were taken from Wireless Vision at 13824 Outlet Drive around 10:18 a.m. on March 19. Force was reported.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 17000 block of King James Way between 8:30 and 10 p.m. on March 18.
  • Money and property were taken from two vehicles between March 15 and 18. The thefts happened in the 8500 block of Hawk Run Terrace and the 20400 block of Lindos Court.
  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Feb. 25 and March 17. Affected streets included Muncaster Mill Road, Drexel Hill Circle, Fountain Valley Drive, Harron Valley Court and Sturbridge Place. Force was reported in two cases.

Strong-arm robbery

  • Someone took property from a woman in the 20000 block of Goshen Road around 8:06 p.m. on March 19.

Commercial burglary

  • Property was taken from Floor Tile Carpet at 19237 Montgomery Village Ave. around 2:07 p.m. on March 20. Force was reported.
