Rockville area

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 10500 block of Sunny Brooke Lane between 12:01 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 26.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 10000 block of Darnestown Road between 3 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key inside. It was recovered the same day.

Bethesda area

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 6800 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 6:13 and 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 29. Force was reported.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 25 and 31. Affected streets included Old Georgetown Road, Symphony Park Drive, Mist Haven Terrace, Waycroft Way, Jolly Way, Tuckerman Heights Circle and Montrose Avenue. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles between Oct. 25 and 31. The thefts happened in the 6600 block of Kennedy Drive and the first block of Froude Circle.
  • Two people took money from four vehicles between Oct. 27 and 30. Affected streets included Sonoma and Burdette roads.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Larry Place between midnight and noon on Oct. 28. The vehicle was reported left unlocked with the key inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 6100 block of Connecticut Avenue between 1 and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 31. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered on Nov. 1.

Armed robbery

  • Three people took money and property from a man in the area of Rosemary Hills Drive and Porter Road around 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 30. One of the robbers displayed a weapon.
  • Two people took merchandise from DSW at 10400 Old Georgetown Road around 10:37 a.m. on Oct. 25. The robbers displayed a weapon and assaulted employees, who were trying to stop them.

Commercial burglaries

  • Someone took property from a storage unit at a construction site in the 10500 block of Grosvenor Place between 3 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 26.
  • Someone took merchandise from Dream Wizard at 11772 Parklawn Drive early on Oct. 31. Force was reported.

Silver Spring area

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 25 and 30. Affected streets included Blair Mill Way, East West Highway, Easley Street, Boundary Avenue, Colesville Road, Ritchie Avenue and Eastern Avenue. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 8900 block of Colesville Road between 10 and 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 31. Force was reported in two cases.
  • Property was taken from multiple vehicles between Oct. 25 and 28. Affected streets included Oak Leaf Drive, Lockwood Drive and Stewart Lane. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property and parts were taken from four vehicles between Oct. 25 and 30. Affected streets included Castle Boulevard, Blackburn Lane, Childress Terrace and Aldora Circle. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the area of Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue around 6:25 p.m. on Oct. 27. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key in the ignition.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue around 12:03 p.m. on Oct. 31.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 10600 block of Patternbond Terrace between 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 27.
  • A vehicle was taken in the area of Avenel Road and Hampshire West Court between 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 29.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 25. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running.

Armed robberies

  • Someone took merchandise from the Safeway at 909 Thayer Ave. around 4:18 p.m. on Oct. 26. The robber displayed a weapon.
  • Two people took money and property from a man in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. One robber displayed a weapon and assaulted the man.
  • Two people took property from a man in the 300 block of Southampton Drive around 9:52 a.m. on Oct. 28. One of the robbers displayed a weapon, and both assaulted the man.

Strong-arm robbery

  • Four people took property from a man in the 900 block of University Boulevard East around 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 30. One of the robbers assaulted the man.
