Police Blotter: Five vehicle thefts reported in Silver Spring area, four in Bethesda area

Crimes reported to Montgomery County police between April 25 and May 1

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)

Thefts from vehicles

• Money was taken from two vehicles between April 27 and 29. The thefts happened in the 7200 block of Delfield Street and the 6100 block of Connecticut Avenue.

• Property was taken from a vehicle in the area of Beach Drive and Knowles Avenue between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m. on April 28. Force was reported.

• Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between April 26 and 30. Affected streets included Brewer House Road, Cushing Drive, Orleans Way, Waycroft Way, Bangor Drive and Luxemburg Street. Force was reported in three cases.

• Money was taken from a vehicle in the 5200 block of Crown Street between 8 p.m. on April 28 and 1:30 p.m. on April 29.

• A part was taken from a vehicle in the 4800 block of Battery Lane between 8:30 p.m. on April 24 and 5:30 p.m. on April 25. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

• A vehicle was taken in the 4500 block of Maple Avenue between 9 p.m. on April 26 and 9 a.m. on April 27. A key was reportedly left inside.

• A vehicle was taken in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive between 9 p.m. on April 24 and 10 a.m. on April 25. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.

• A vehicle was taken in the 3700 block of Village Park Drive between 10 p.m. on April 25 and 8 a.m. on April 26. A key was reportedly left inside.

• A vehicle was taken in the 9600 block of Dewitt Drive between 7:30 a.m. on April 28 and 7:10 a.m. on April 30.

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)

Thefts from vehicles

• Property was taken from a vehicle in the 7900 block of Tuckerman Lane between 7 and 9 a.m. on April 28.

• Property was taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of Edison Park Drive early on April 28. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

• Two vehicles were taken from a home in the 10800 block of Boswell Lane early on April 28. One vehicle was recovered the same day and the other was recovered on April 30.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)

Thefts from vehicles

• Property was taken from a vehicle in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue around 9:18 a.m. on April 29.

• Property was taken from two vehicles between April 25 and May 1. The thefts happened in the 2100 block of Hanover Street and the area of Ellsworth Drive and Cedar Street. Force was reported in one case.

• Property was taken from a vehicle in the 900 block of Langley Drive between 4 p.m. on April 24 and 7:30 a.m. on April 25.

• Property and parts were taken from three vehicles between April 14 and 29. Affected streets included Avenel Road, Northampton Drive, and Burnt Ember Drive. Force was reported in two events; property and vehicle parts were taken.

• Money, property and parts were taken from four vehicles between April 26 and 29. Affected streets included Star Pointe Lane, Riding Stable Road, Parkford Manor Terrace and Sheffield Manor Terrace. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

• A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue around 8:10 p.m. on April 27. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered on April 30.

• A vehicle was taken in the 8500 block of Fenton Street around 6:41 p.m. on April 29. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered on May 2.

• A vehicle was taken in the 1600 block of Highland Drive between 6 p.m. on April 25 and 8:30 a.m. on April 26.

• A vehicle was taken in the 12500 block of Summerwood Drive between 5 p.m. on April 27 and 7 a.m. on April 28. A key was reportedly left inside. The vehicle was recovered on April 28.

• A vehicle was taken in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard around 11:05 p.m. on April 25. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running. It was recovered on May 5.

Armed robbery

• Three people assaulted a man and took his money in the area of Powder Mill Road and New Hampshire Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on April 29. One of the robbers displayed a weapon.

Aggravated assaults

• Someone assaulted a person in the area of Stewart Lane and Regent Manor Court around 12:40 p.m. on April 27. The attacker displayed a weapon.

• Two people assaulted two women in the 3300 block of Sir Thomas Drive around 1:25 p.m. on April 26. One of the attackers displayed a weapon.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)

Thefts from vehicles

• Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 9900 block of Shelburne Terrace between 10 p.m. on April 26 and 8 a.m. on April 27. Force was reported.

• Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 19400 block of Woodfield Road between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 1.

Vehicle thefts

• A vehicle was taken in the first block of McDonald Chapel Court between 4:30 p.m. on April 23 and 10:30 a.m. on April 25. The vehicle was recovered on April 25.

• A vehicle was taken in the 8900 block of Centerway Road between 8 p.m. on April 26 and 8:30 a.m. on April 27. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked. It was recovered on April 30.

• A vehicle was taken in the area of Quail Valley Drive and Emory Grove Road early on April 28. The vehicle was recovered the same day.

Armed robbery

• Four people took weapons and property from adult and juvenile victims in the 18100 block of Washington Grove Lane around 10:14 p.m. on May 1. The robbers displayed weapons.
