Police Blotter: Eight Vehicle Thefts in Bethesda, Silver Spring

Crimes reported to Montgomery County Police from Aug. 18 through 24

Thefts from vehicles

Money and vehicle parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Aug. 18 and 24. Thefts occurred on Georgia Street, Maple Avenue, Leland Street, Ridgewood Avenue, Oak Lane and East West Highway. Force was reported in one case.

Vehicle thefts

A vehicle was taken near 16th Street and East West Highway on Aug. 23 between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. Entry was not known.

A vehicle was taken in the 5900 block of Cranston Road between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 18. No force was reported. A key was reported to have been left inside.

A vehicle was taken in the 6000 block of Woodacres Drive on Aug. 17. No force was reported. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the key fob inside. The vehicle was recovered Aug. 18.

A vehicle was taken in the 7000 block of Arlington Road between Aug. 18 and 23. Entry was not known. A key was reported to have been left inside.

A vehicle was taken in the 4300 block of Clearbrook Lane between 4 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 19. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with a key inside.

Commercial burglary

Money and medications were taken from Brookville Pharmacy at 7025 Brookville Road between 3 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 9:23 a.m. on Aug. 19.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Aug. 18 and 23. Thefts occurred on Georgia Avenue, Wayne Avenue, East West Highway, Fenton Street, and Hartford Avenue. Force was reported in two cases. Three suspects were arrested for the East West Highway theft.

Vehicle thefts

A vehicle was taken in the 9900 block of Big Rock Road between 8 p.m. Aug. 19 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 20. Entry is not known. The vehicle was recovered on Aug. 23.

A vehicle was taken on Whitestone Court between 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 20. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked.

A vehicle was taken in the 1600 block of Parham Road between 12:01 and 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 24. Entry is unknown.

Armed robbery

Two people took property from a man in the early morning hours of Aug. 23 on the 1100 block of Wayne Avenue. Both robbers displayed weapons.

Strong-arm robbery

Two people took money and property after one of the robbers assaulted a man on the 8100 block of Fenton Street around 9:02 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Three people took property from a man after assaulting him in the 600 block of University Boulevard East in the early morning hours of Aug. 19.

Rockville

Thefts from vehicles

Vehicle parts and property were taken from vehicles on Wicomico Avenue and Granite Ridge Drive between July 31 and Aug. 22. No forced entry was reported.

Commercial burglary

A burglary was reported at Hair Expressions at 12450 Parklawn Drive on Aug. 24. Nothing was taken and a suspect was arrested.

Residential burglary

A burglary was reported in the 11500 block of Dalyn Terrace at 8 p.m. on Aug. 19. Nothing was taken.
