Police Blotter: Five Vehicle Thefts in Bethesda, Silver Spring

Crimes reported to Montgomery County Police from Aug. 25 through 31

Bethesda

Thefts from vehicles

Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Aug. 25 and 29 on Woodglen Drive, Old Georgetown Road, Rockville Pike, Raleigh Tavern Court and Lone Oak Drive. Force was reported in three cases.

Vehicle thefts

Two vehicles were taken from the same home in the 7700 block of Granada Drive on the morning of Aug. 26. Both vehicles were reported to have been unlocked, with no forced entry. One vehicle was recovered the same day.

A vehicle was taken on the 6000 block of Walton Road between 10:15 p.m. Aug. 26 and 6 a.m. Aug. 27. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the key inside. There were no signs of force. The vehicle was recovered Aug. 27.

Residential burglary

Property was taken from a home in the 3900 block of Newdale Road between 9 a.m. Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. Aug. 26. A door was reported to have been left unlocked, but there were no signs of forced entry.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Money, property and vehicle parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Aug. 28 and 30 on Hampshire West Court, Kinsman View Circle, Hereford Place and West Nolcrest Drive. Force was reported in one case.

Vehicle thefts

A vehicle was taken from the 7800 block of Boston Avenue between 4:40 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 25. The vehicle was recovered the same day.

A vehicle was taken in the 600 block of Potomac Avenue between about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 29. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the key inside. The vehicle was recovered Aug. 30.

Commercial burglary

Money was taken from Bonanza Coins at 940 Wayne Ave. on the morning of Aug. 30. Forced entry was reported.

Rockville

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from four vehicles between Aug. 23 and 31 on Gainsborough Road, Crestview Court, Lamp Post Lane and Copenhaver Drive. No force was reported.

Residential burglaries

Money and property were taken from a home on the 11600 block of Montague Court between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Aug. 27. A door was reported to have been left unlocked, but no signs of forced entry were reported.

Commercial burglary

Money was taken from White’s Ferry, at 24801 Whites Ferry Road, around 11:55 p.m. on Aug. 31. Forced entry was reported.
