Police Blotter: Five vehicle thefts in Bethesda area

Crimes reported to Montgomery County police between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5

Bethesda area

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 5800 block of Nicholson Lane between noon on Aug. 30 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 31.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 11700 block of Old Georgetown Road between 3 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 2. It was recovered on Sept. 3.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 5800 block of Namakagan Road between 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 2 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 3. The key was reportedly left inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 5400 block of Mohican Road between 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 10:43 a.m. on Sept. 5. It was recovered on Sept. 7.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 6100 block of Dunleer Court between 8 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 2 p.m. on Aug. 31. A spare key was reportedly left inside. The vehicle was recovered on Sept. 1.

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money was taken from two vehicles between Aug. 31 and Sept. 2. The thefts happened in the 7400 block of Connecticut Avenue and the 3700 block of Raymond Street.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 6800 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 1:45 and 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 5. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from three vehicles between Aug. 30 and Sept. 1. Affected streets included University Boulevard West, Denfeld Court and Howard Avenue. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 5500 block of Randolph Road between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 31.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Aug. 31 and Sept. 5. Affected streets included Harrison Street, Sangamore Road, Surrey Street, N. Park Avenue, Willard Avenue and Waneta Road. Force was reported in three cases.

Commercial burglary

  • Two people took money from K-Pot Hot Pot & Barbecue at 5550 Randolph Road early on Sept. 4. Force was reported.

Rockville area

Burglaries

  • Money was taken from Honey Pig BBQ at 12015 Rockville Pike, Suite G early on Sept. 4. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from a construction site at 12102 Hanson Farm Drive between 5 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 9 a.m. Sept. 4. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from a garage at a home in the 13500 block of Maidstone Lane between 11 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 4.

Silver Spring area

Armed robbery

  • Money and property were taken from the Exxon station at 8384 Colesville Road around 11:50 a.m. on Sept. 2. The thief displayed a weapon.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 1000 block of Bonifant Street around 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 31. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running. It was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8000 block of Blair Mill Way around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 1. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8400 block of Georgia Avenue around 7:44 p.m. on Sept. 4. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 1200 block of East West Highway at 7:55 p.m. on Sept. 5. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 3300 block of Hampton Point Drive between 11 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 6:40 a.m. on Aug. 31. The vehicle was recovered Sept. 1.

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4. Affected streets included Fidler Lane, Ramsey Avenue, Cameron Street, Sligo Avenue and Georgia Avenue. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Money and property were taken from three vehicles between Aug. 29 and Sept. 2. Affected streets included Garland Avenue, Glenville Road and Buckingham Drive. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 9400 block of Sierra Street between 5:35 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 7:40 a.m. on Sept. 2. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from multiple vehicles Aug. 31 on Heather Hollow Circle. Force was reported in one case.

Commercial burglaries

  • Property was taken from Anamaya Wellness at 101111 Colesville Road between 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 and noon on Aug. 31. Force was reported.
  • Money and property were taken from Jewel of India at 10151 New Hampshire Ave. around 9:28 p.m. on Aug. 31.
