Police Blotter: Eight vehicle thefts reported in Bethesda area, 10 in Silver Spring area

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 3 and 10. Affected streets included Navarre Drive, Woodside Place, Chestnut Street, East West Highway and Brooklawn Terrace. Force was reported in three cases.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 4 and 9. Affected streets included Ridge Street, Clarendon Road, Wisconsin Avenue, Leland Street and Arlington Road. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property was taken from three vehicles between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7. Affected streets included Enfield Road, Chanute Drive and Ferndale Street.
  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 3 and 11. Affected streets included Ft. Sumner Drive, Chesterbrook Road, Marlyn Drive, Nahant Street, Ogden Court and Scarsdale, Dover and River roads. Force was reported in one case.
  • Money and property were taken from three vehicles between Sept. 3 and 11. Affected streets included Beech Avenue, Plainview Road and Anniston Road.
  • Money was taken from a vehicle in the 9900 block of Montauk Avenue between 9 p.m. on Sept. 4 and noon on Sept. 5.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 7200 block of Chestnut Street between 7 p.m. on Sept. 4 and noon on Sept. 6. It was reportedly left unlocked.
  • A vehicle was taken from a home in the 5100 block of Hampden Lane around 5:19 a.m. on Sept. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked.
  • An all-terrain vehicle was taken in the 5700 block of Overlea Road between 2 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 6. It was recovered later that day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 7700 block of Oldchester Road early on Sept. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 6400 block of Crane Terrace between 5 p.m. on Sept. 9 and 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 10. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered on Sept. 10.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 5600 block of Durbin Road early on Sept. 10. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 9800 block of Brixton Lane between 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 3:10 a.m. on Sept. 7. It was recovered on Sept. 7.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 10400 block of Auto Park Avenue around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)

Residential burglaries

  • Property was taken from multiple residential storage units in the 8000 block of Gramercy Boulevard between midnight on Sept. 2 and 12:56 p.m. on Sept. 5. Force was reported.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money and property were taken from multiple vehicles between Sept. 5 and 11. Affected streets included Easley Street, Georgia Avenue, Wayne Avenue, Eastern Avenue and Thayer Avenue. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Money and property were taken from two vehicles between Sept. 6 and 8. The thefts happened in the 1700 block of White Oak Drive and the 1600 block of Wilson Place.
  • Property and parts were taken from two vehicles between Sept. 6 and 9. The thefts happened in the 8500 block of Geren Road and the 800 block of University Boulevard East. Force was reported.
  • Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 11200 block of Lockwood Drive between 6 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 8. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 2900 block of Strauss Terrace between 7 a.m. on Sept. 2 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 7.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue early on Sept. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 800 block of Easley Street around 2:35 p.m. on Sept. 5. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. It was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue around 10:14 p.m. on Sept. 6. It was recovered one week later.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8100 block of Fenton Street between 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 11.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 900 block of Bonifant Street around 6:27 p.m. on Sept. 11. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered four days later.
  • A motor scooter was taken in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue between 11 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 9.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 1700 block of Flora Lane between 5 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 6. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered on Sept. 10.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 10200 block of New Hampshire Avenue early on Sept. 6. It was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside. The vehicle was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 9700 block of Armistead Road between 7 and 9 p.m. on Sept. 6. A key was reportedly lost and used to steal the vehicle. It was recovered the next day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 1500 block of Heather Hollow Circle between 8 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 11. It was reportedly left unlocked.

Carjacking

  • Someone assaulted a man and stole his vehicle in the 800 block of Easley Street around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 11. The vehicle was recovered four days later.

Commercial burglary

  • Someone took property from Mix Bar and Grille at 8241 Georgia Ave. early on Sept. 8. Force was reported.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)

Thefts from vehicles

  • A part was taken from a vehicle in the 19900 block of Mastenbrook Place between 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. Force was reported.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 10300 block of Apple Ridge Road between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 8. The victim reported her vehicle key was missing.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 19300 block of Woodfield Road between 1 p.m. on Sept. 9 and 5 p.m. on Sept. 10.

Armed robbery

  • Two people took money and property from two women in the 19200 block of Montgomery Village Avenue early on Sept. 6. One of the robbers displayed a weapon and assaulted one of the women.
