Bethesda

Thefts from vehicles

Four thefts from vehicles occurred in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard between approximately 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on July 29. Force was reported in three events; property was taken.

Armed robbery

Two people robbed a man of cash and property in the 6700 block of Democracy Boulevard in the early morning hours of July 22. One person displayed a weapon and assaulted the alleged victim.

Stolen vehicle

Someone stole a vehicle parked in the 10100 block of Galsworthy Place between approximately 8:30 p.m. July 20 and 8 a.m. July 21.

Commercial burglary

A commercial burglary occurred at Villain & Saint, 7141 Wisconsin Ave., between approximately 12:50 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. July 20. No signs of forced entry were reported. Property was taken.

Residential burglaries

Someone entered a residence through an unlocked door and took property from a residence in the 5800 block of Anniston Drive at approximately 8:30 p.m. July 17.

Someone entered a residence and took property in the 10200 block of Westlake Drive between approximately 3 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. July 19.

Someone forced entry into a garage at the 8000 block of Park Lane between July 12 and July 28. Property was taken.

Chevy Chase

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between July 23 and July 31 on Washington Avenue, Abilene Drive and Blaine Drive. No forced entry was reported; cash and property were taken.

Commercial burglary

A group of suspects took $20,000 to $30,000 worth of designer merchandise from the Saks Fifth Avenue store at 5555 Wisconsin Ave. in Chevy Chase around 11:30 a.m. on July 31.

Friendship Heights

Residential burglaries

Someone broke into and took property from a residence in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue between July 21 and July 23.

Someone broke into a residence and took property in the 5200 block of Willard Avenue between approximately 8 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. July 23.

North Bethesda

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately 6 p.m. July 23 and 8 a.m. July 24 on streets including Grand Park Avenue, Rockville Pike and Marinelli Road. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

Residential burglary

Someone forced entry into a residence in the 5800 block of Nicholson Lane in Rockville between 4:45 p.m. July 28 and 2 p.m. July 29. Property was taken.

Attempted residential burglaries

An attempted residential garage burglary occurred in the 10500 block of Farnham Drive at approximately 1:30 p.m. July 18.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 11900 block of Bargate Court at approximately 8 p.m. July 19.

Commercial burglaries

Two people, ages unknown, broke into and took property from the CVS Pharmacy at 11416 Rockville Pike in the early morning of July 20.

A break-in occurred at Mike and Sons Sub Shop, 5404 Randolph Road, between approximately 12 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on July 29. Cash and merchandise were taken.

Potomac

Theft from vehicle

Theft from a vehicle occurred in the 10400 block of River Road at approximately 10 p.m. on July 28. No forced entry was reported; property was taken.

Somerset

Residential burglary

Someone entered a residence in the 4700 block of Falstone Avenue through an unlocked window between approximately 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. July 18. Nothing was taken.

Rockville

Thefts from vehicles

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 14400 block of Traville Garden Circle between approximately 5 p.m. July 27 and approximately 11 a.m. July 29. No forced entry was reported and vehicle parts were taken.

Residential burglaries

Someone broke into and took property from a residence in the 300 block of Congressional Lane between approximately 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 19.

Also in the 300 block of Congressional Lane, a burglary and vehicle theft took place at the same residence. A burglar took property and a spare vehicle key between approximately noon and 8:40 p.m. on July 19. The key was used to steal a vehicle from the property sometime between 12:20 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. July 20. The vehicle was recovered July 21.

Attempted residential burglary

An attempted residential burglary occurred sometime between 12:20 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. July 20 in the 300 block of Congressional Lane.

Commercial burglary

Wheel Ding King at 1910 Rockville Pike was burglarized between 11 p.m. July 27 and 5 a.m. July 28. Police said two suspects forced entry into the shop and one man was arrested. Merchandise was taken.

Stolen vehicle

Someone stole a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Taft Street sometime between approximately 4:30 p.m. July 20 and 2 p.m. July 22.  The vehicle was recovered July 23.

Strong-arm robbery

Two men in their 20s were arrested after an attempted strong-arm robbery near Rockville Pike and Truck Street in the early morning hours of July 31. Police said the suspects—a 28-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from Silver Spring—assaulted a man and attempted to take his property.

North Potomac

Thefts from vehicles

Several thefts from vehicles occurred between July 17 and July 31 on Owens Glen Terrace, Keeneland Circle, Peach Leaf Drive and Ambiance Court. No forced entry was reported. Cash and property were taken.

Residential burglaries

Someone entered the garage of a residence through an unlocked door and stole property from an unlocked vehicle parked inside in the 12500 block of Falconbridge Drive between approximately 9 p.m.  July 18 and 5:20 p.m. July 19.

Derwood

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between 5 p.m. July 30 and 9:30 a.m. July 31 on Eagles Head Court and Fairborn Court. No forced entry was reported; cash and property were taken.

Strong-arm robbery

A 33-year-old Alexandria, Virginia, man was arrested after he allegedly committed a strong-arm robbery at the 7-Eleven convenience store at 15821 Frederick Road at approximately 8:37 p.m. July 18. The suspect destroyed property, but did not take anything.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between July 23 and July 31 on streets including Fidler Lane, Bonifant Street, Cameron Street, Georgia Avenue, Thayer Avenue, and East West Highway. Force was used in multiple events; cash and property were taken.

Aggravated assault

An unknown number of suspects assaulted a man in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue in the early morning hours of July 28.

Vehicle theft

A residential burglary and vehicle theft occurred at the same residence in the 8900 block of Georgia Avenue between approximately 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. on July 29. There were no signs of forced entry, but property was taken, along with a key to steal the vehicle.

Armed robbery

An armed robbery occurred in the 8600 block of Garland Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on July 30. The suspect, a 20-year-old man, displayed a weapon and took property from two women.

Attempted residential burglary

An attempted residential burglary took place in the 500 block of Bonifant Street in the early morning hours of July 31. Police identified the suspect as a male between the ages of 16 and 20.

Commercial burglaries

Three suspects robbed Esther’s Beauty Salon/Supplies at 9309 Georgia Avenue at 6:49 p.m. on July 27. Employees at the store were assaulted and pepper sprayed during the robbery, in which the suspects made off with a single wig.

Cash was stolen after someone forced entry to Red Maple Asian Bistro, 8315 Grubb Road in Silver Spring between approximately 10:30 p.m. July 26 and 10:30 a.m. July 27.

Burtonsville

Commercial burglaries

Someone broke into and took cash from Pat’s Outdoor Equipment at 4160 Sandy Spring Road between approximately 5 p.m. July 20 and 9 a.m. July 21.

A commercial burglary was reported at the Red Sea Market, 15420 Old Columbia Pike, in the early morning hours of July 31. Cash and merchandise were taken after someone forced entry inside.

Fairland

Thefts from vehicles

Thefts from vehicles were reported between July 23 and July 28 on Tapestry Circle, Sheffield Manor Way, Colgate Way, Gateshead Manor Drive, Dowling Drive, Musicmaster Drive, and Hampton Hollow Drive. No force was reported in those incidents, but cash, property and vehicle parts were taken.

Residential burglaries

A residential burglary occurred in the 3300 block of Teagarden Circle between approximately 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. July 19. No signs of forced entry were reported. Property was taken.

Property was taken from a residence in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard between 12 p.m. on July 23 and 8 a.m. July 24. There were no signs of forced entry.

A residence in the 3300 block of Sir Thomas Drive was burglarized between approximately 6 p.m. July 25 and 6 p.m. on July 31. There were no signs of forced entry. Property was taken.

Forced entry was made to a residence in the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way in the early morning hours of July 30. Property was taken.

Property was taken after forced entry to a residence in the 3400 block of Robey Terrace in the early morning hours of July 31.

Officer-involved shooting

An officer-involved shooting occurred at a domestic-related barricade incident in the 2800 block of Mozart Drive on July 23.

Forest Glen

Residential burglary

A residential shed burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Belvedere Boulevard between approximately 9 a.m. July 26 and 12:30 p.m. July 28. Property was taken from the unlocked shed.
