Police Blotter: Assault Reported at Bethesda Bar; Buildings Vandalized in Kensington

The following incidents were reported to Montgomery County police from Dec. 22 to 30

Bethesda

Assault at Bethesda bar

One person was attacked by four people between midnight and 2 a.m. Dec. 22 at Tommy Joe’s Restaurant on Montgomery Lane in Bethesda. Police said two men and two women are suspected in the assault, but did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects.

Attempted armed robbery on Wyngate Drive

A woman entering a residence in the 5800 block of Wyngate Drive in Bethesda was approached by a man who displayed a handgun and then unsuccessfully attempted to rob her around 10 p.m. Dec. 30. Police described the suspect as a black male about 5 foot 6 inches who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black knit hat.

Residential burglary on Elliott Road

Property was taken from a residence in the 5200 block of Elliot Road around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 27.

Kensington

Multiple buildings vandalized

Someone marked multiple buildings with graffiti overnight the night of Dec. 26. Buildings on Brookfield Drive, Summit Avenue, Matthews Lane and Hatherleigh Drive were vandalized.

Rockville

Assault at Western Union

A man was leaving the Western Union at 2011 Veirs Mill Road when he was attacked by someone. Police described the suspect as a white male, about 25 years old, 5 foot 6 inches, about 140 pounds and with a thin build who was wearing a tan shirt. Police said the suspect fled in a tan van. Police did not provide a date or time for the incident.

Burglary at Arby’s

The Arby’s at 11710 Rockville Pike was burglarized overnight Dec. 23. Police did not know how entry was made to the business, but reported that property was stolen.

North Bethesda

Vehicles burglarized at The Music Center at Strathmore

Forced entry was made to two vehicles parked at The Music Center at Strathmore on Rockville Pike between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 29, but nothing was reported stolen from the vehicles.

Vehicle stolen from lot

A vehicle was stolen from a commercial parking lot at 11540 Rockville Pike sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. Dec. 22.
