Crimes reported to Montgomery County and Rockville police from Oct. 7 through 20 for Bethesda, Rockville and Silver Spring police districts

Bethesda

Attempted commercial armed robbery

An attempted commercial armed robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven at 3507 University Blvd. West at 3:45 a.m. Oct. 9. Based on the description of the suspect, police believe the same person tried to rob a taxi driver at gun point around 4 a.m. Oct. 8 in the 4000 block of Sampson Road in the Veirs Mill Village area.

Residential burglaries

A residential burglary occurred in the 10600 block of Alloway Drive between 9 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. on Oct. 5. There was no forced entry. Property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 11800 block of Old Drovers Way between 7:45 p.m. and 9:07 p.m. Oct. 8. There were no signs of forced entry and property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6200 block of Winston Drive between 6 p.m. Oct. 11 and 7 a.m. Oct. 12. There were no signs of forced entry. A door was reported to have been unlocked. Property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5300 block of Willard Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 12. Forced entry was reported. No property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 1900 block of East West Highway between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 16. There were no signs of forced entry, but a window was left open and property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Royal Court between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5800 block of Inman Park Circle between 9:35 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18. Forced entry was reported and taken.

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Oct. 12 and Oct. 15 on Brixton Lane and Rockhurst Road. There was no forced entry and cash and property were taken.

Multiple vehicle thefts occurred in the 5500 block of Nicholson Lane between 12 p.m. Oct. 15 and 1 p.m. Oct. 17. There was no forced entry and cash and property were taken.

Vehicle theft

A moped theft occurred in the 1700 block of East West Highway at 1:02 p.m. Oct. 16. The moped was recovered and the suspects described as two Hispanic males, ages 15 and 16 from Washington, D.C. were arrested.

Chevy Chase

Vehicle thefts

Five thefts from vehicles occurred between 6 p.m. Oct. 12 and 1 p.m. Oct. 13 on Chestnut, Delfield and Woodbine streets in Chevy Chase. There was no forced entry and cash was taken.

Potomac

Home invasion

A home invasion and kidnapping occurred at 4 p.m. Oct. 14 on Stable Way. The suspect was arrested.

Vehicle theft

A vehicle theft was reported in the 10000 block of River Road between 10 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 4 p.m. on Oct. 10. The entry point is unknown.

Rockville

Armed carjacking

An armed carjacking and robbery of an Uber driver occurred in the area of Tildenwoo Drive and Montrose Road at 5 p.m. Oct. 19.

Armed robbery

An armed robbery of a taxi driver occurred in the 11600 block of Crabbs Branch Way at 10:31 p.m. on Oct. 13. The suspect displayed a weapon to an adult male driver and took the driver’s cash and property.

Commercial burglaries

Two commercial burglaries took place at the Milestone Properties at 12331 Wilkins Ave. between 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 and 9:12 a.m. on Oct. 7 and between 9:20 p.m. and 9:31 p.m. on Oct. 8. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

Commercial shed burglaries

Between Oct. 12 and Oct. 14 four sheds were burglarized at Valley Mill Camp at 15101 Seneca Road. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

Motorcycle theft

A motorcycle was reported stolen in the 1100 block of Agnew Drive between 6 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 8.

Residential burglaries

A residential burglary occurred in the 11500 block of Twining Lane between 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 and 4:16 p.m. on Oct. 12. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9100 block of Aldershot Drive between 7:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 18. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 7800 block of Laurel Leaf Drive at 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 17.

Vehicle theft

A vehicle was stolen around 5:37 p.m. on Oct. 15 in the 13700 block of Travilah Road. Keys were left inside an unlocked car. The vehicle was recovered on Oct. 16.

Theft and aggravated assault

A suspect stole merchandise and displayed a weapon when an employee tried to stop him from leaving at 1:10 p.m. on Oct. 17 from the 1800 Rockville Pike Safeway.

A suspect stole merchandise and displayed a weapon when an employee tried to stop him from leaving between 9:42 p.m. and 10:25 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the 5700 Bou Avenue Target.

Thefts from vehicles

Three vehicle thefts occurred between 3 p.m. on Oct. 15 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the 7700 block of Tuckerman Lane, the 14900 block of Shady Grove Road and the 600 block of Mount Vernon Place. Cash and property were taken.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 11400 block of Grundy Court between 11 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 11 a.m. on Oct. 15. There was no report of forced entry and property was taken.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 19800 block of Beallsville Road between 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 19. There was no forced entry and property was taken.

Silver Spring

Attempted strong-arm robbery

At attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in the 8500 block of Piney Branch Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 8. The suspect attempted to take cash and property from a man.

Armed robbery

An armed robbery and two attempted armed robberies, believed to be committed by the same people, occurred starting at 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 9 in Silver Spring in the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue and the 800 and 900 blocks of Wayne Avenue. At the Georgia Avenue robbery two suspects displayed weapons and took property from a man. At the Wayne Avenue attempted robberies, the same suspects each time displayed weapons and attempted to take cash and property from a man.

The suspects, described as black males, ages 19 and 16, who are both from Washington, D.C., were arrested. Police believe the same suspects are responsible for four commercial burglaries that occurred between Oct. 8 and 9. (See commercial burglaries below.)

An armed robbery occurred in the 11200 block of Lockwood Drive at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. One suspect displayed a weapon and while cash was taken from a juvenile.

Commercial armed robbery

A commercial armed robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven at 8455 Colesville Road on Oct. 13.

Commercial burglaries

Four commercial burglaries occurred in office suites at 8701 Georgia Ave. between 11 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 9. The burglarized businesses include 3 Links Technologies Inc., Aurotech, Money Plans and Tonya Frazier, LCPC. Forced entry was reported at all the businesses. Property was stolen from 3 Links, Aurotech and Money Plans. Police believe the commercial burglaries were committed by the same suspects who were arrested for armed robbery and attempted armed robbery on Oct. 9. (See armed robbery above.)

A commercial burglary occurred at Town Cars LLC at 810 Burlington Ave. in the early morning hours of Oct. 15. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Quattro Auto Body at 9151 Brookeville Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 15. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Sundecks located at 4512 Sandy Spring Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 15. There were no signs of forced entry and property was taken. A 28-year-old man from Elkridge and a 49-year-old Arbutus man were arrested.

Residential burglaries

Two residential burglaries believed to have been committed by the same suspect occurred at the same residence in the 600 block of Woodside Parkway in the early morning hours of Oct. 10 and Oct. 15. Both times forced entry was reported. Property was taken on Oct. 10. A 27-year-old Silver Spring was arrested.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2800 block of Cabin Creek Drive between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 11. Forced entry was reported and property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2000 block of Glen Ross Road between 11 p.m. Oct. 19 and 5 a.m. on Oct. 20. There were no signs of forced entry, but a door was believed to be left unlocked and property was taken.

Strong-arm robberies

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11400 block of Lockwood Drive at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 10. Three black teenage boys allegedly assaulted a man and took his property.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 10. Four black males, ages unknown, allegedly assaulted a man and took his property.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 12. Six black males allegedly took cash and property from three juvenile male victims. A 15-year-old boy and 16 year-old boy were arrested.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the area of University Boulevard East and Colesville Road at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. A man was assaulted the suspects took his property.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11400 block of Steward Lane at 10 p.m. on Oct. 15. A man was assaulted and his property was taken.

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred from Oct. 7 to 13 on 13th, Fenton and Ripley streets, East West Highway, and Wayne Avenue. Forced entry was reported in several events. Cash and property were taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles from Oct. 14 to 20 occurred on Cobblestone and Jaystone drives, Milshire Court and Norwood Road. Forced entry was reported in four events. Cash and property were taken.
