A 28-year-old Germantown woman was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Rockville.
Montgomery County police said Marchelle Edwards, 28, was crossing Rockville Pike at East Middle Lane around 7:15 p.m. when she was struck by a 2001 Honda Accord that was traveling south.
Police said Wednesday morning they did not have any new updates on Edwards' condition.
Police identified the driver of the Honda as Rapheal Olegario, 43, of Chevy Chase. The site of the collision is near where Rockville Pike turns into Hungerford Drive and across from the Rockville Metro station.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating whether the traffic light was green and if Edwards was in the crosswalk when she was struck.
Police closed both directions of Rockville Pike near where the collision took place for more than three hours while investigators worked at the scene. The roadway was reopened around midnight.
The crash remains under investigation and police are asking anyone who may have information about it to call 240-773-6620.
