Pedestrian Struck in Wheaton Crash Has Died

Minivan hit man on Randolph Road

A pedestrian struck by a car on Aug. 27 in Wheaton has died, Montgomery County police announced Friday.

Roger Odin Martinez-Mejia, 24, of Wheaton, was killed after he was hit by a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan around 9 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the intersection of Randolph Road and Glenmont Circle in Wheaton, according to news release.

Martinez-Mejia was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Grand Caravan was driven by Harold Lanning Jr. of Silver Spring. Police said neither Lanning nor the other passengers in the vehicle were injured.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
