An Olney man died and a woman was injured in a four-vehicle crash Friday night in Olney near the interchange of Georgia Ave and the Intercounty Connector.

Rene Antonio Hernandez Jr, 32, of Olney, was killed Friday night after police said his 2009 Honda Civic was in crashes with three oncoming vehicles.

Police said the Hernandez was driving his 2009 Honda Civic south on Georgia Avenue and tried to turn left onto the eastbound entrance ramp of the ICC.

Police said the Hernandez’s car then hit an oncoming 2014 Q50S  traveling north on Georgia Avenue. Then, the car was struck by a 2004 Ford Explorer and a 2018 Dodge Challenger also traveling north.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. A 25-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to a press release. Her identity was not released.

None of the other drivers involved in the crash was hurt, police said. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
