Officer pinned between vehicles while pursuing three suspected car thieves

Chase happened in Fairland

A Montgomery County police officer was injured in Fairland on Wednesday evening during a foot chase of three people accused of stealing a vehicle.

Police posted on Twitter that the three alleged thieves are in custody.

Officers tried to stop three people who were allegedly driving a stolen vehicle near Old Columbia Pike and Fairland Road at 10:09 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

When officers pursued the three people on foot, one officer became pinned between two vehicles, police wrote. The officer was taken to a hospital with a leg injury that is not considered life-threatening. Police did not identify the officer.
