Police Blotter: Multiple Commercial Burglaries in Rockville; Car with Keys in Ignition Stolen in Silver Spring

Crimes reported to Montgomery County and Rockville police from Dec. 16 through Dec. 22

Thefts from vehicles

Cash, property and vehicle parts were taken from multiple vehicles. Thefts occurred on Wisconsin Avenue, Colston Drive, 16th Street, East West Highway, and Ross and Porter roads from Dec. 16 to Dec. 22. Forced entry was reported in multiple cases.

Strong-arm robbery

Property was taken from a victim by eight suspects in the 1900 block of Rosemary Hills Drive at 3:26 p.m. Dec. 16. The suspects also assaulted the victim.

Residential burglary

Property taken from a residence in the 4700 block of Jones Bridge Road between 3 p.m. Dec. 14 and 1:23 p.m. Dec. 17. Forced entry was reported.

Rockville

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property taken from a vehicle in the 1300 block of East Gude Drive between 8:20 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Dec. 18. No forced entry was reported.

Several airbags were removed from vehicles at a business in the 14600 block of Southlawn Lane between 2 p.m. Dec. 22 and 8 a.m. Dec. 26.

Commercial burglaries

Cash and 14 cases of beer were taken from a business in the 800 block of Burgundy Road between 11 p.m. Dec. 22 and 6 a.m. Dec. 23. The suspect gained entry by prying open a rear door.

Cash taken from Montrose Deli at 6001 Montrose Road the morning of Dec. 22. Forced entry reported.

Silver Spring

Thefts from vehicles

Cash and property taken from multiple vehicles on Draper Lane, Spring and Fenton streets, Colesville Road and Silver Spring Avenue between Dec. 19 and Dec. 22. Forced entry was reported in one event.

Strong-arm robbery

Property was taken from a victim in the 800 block of Pershing Drive the morning of Dec. 20.
Vehicle theft

A vehicle was taken from the 8200 block of Fenton Street at 9:20 a.m. Dec. 20. Keys were reportedly left in the ignition.

Commercial burglary

Cash was taken from La Posada Restaurant at 8545 Piney Branch Road the morning of Dec, 20. Forced entry was reported.

Cash was taken from the America’s Best Wings at 13828 Outlet Drive the morning of Dec. 17. No forced entry was reported.
