A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Dickerson last week, Montgomery County police said on Wednesday.

Blake Chandler Hunt, 20, of Boyds, was driving a 2010 Mazda 3 north on Barnesville Road around noon on Sept. 16, police said in a press release.

His car went off the road and struck multiple fencing poles and trees before coming to a stop. The car then caught fire, police said.

When firefighters got to the scene, they extinguished the fire and found Hunt inside, police said.

Police did not release information about the crash last week, but said in Wednesday’s press release that a medical examiner identified the victim as Hunt.

Clarksburg High School posted on Twitter that Hunt was a 2018 graduate who “brought smiles and joy to his friends and staff.”
