Man Charged with Gun-Related Crimes
Smith was arrested just after midnight Saturday

Montgomery County police arrested a Washington, D.C., man in Silver Spring on several gun charges on Saturday.
Officers arrested Kriss Smith, 26, of Southeast Washington, D.C., during a traffic stop just after midnight Saturday, according to a police press release on Monday.
Police said they stopped a car for a traffic violation around 12:19 a.m. and identified the driver as Smith. They smelled marijuana coming from inside the car and asked Smith to get out.
Smith, police said, then drove away on Spring Street toward 2nd Avenue, where he then fled on foot. Officers then arrested Smith and allegedly found a Taurus .380 handgun.
Smith was charged with having a handgun in a vehicle, handgun on a person, dangerous weapon-conceal and failure to comply, according to state court records. Attorney information for him was not available as of Monday afternoon.
Smith was released from custody after posting $2,000 bond, according to the press release.
