A male has been arrested after U.S. Park Police say he assaulted and exposed himself to multiple people by the C&O Canal in Cabin John.

But police are not releasing his name or other details until next week, a spokeswoman said.

Someone assaulted and exposed himself to multiple people near locks 8, 9 and 10 of the canal, according to a public notice police posted on Twitter. The locks are along the C&O Canal towpath, which is on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, parallel to Clara Barton Parkway.

Police did not indicate how many victims there were.

In the notice, police asked anyone with information to call them at 202-610-8730.

Sgt. Roselyn Norment, a park police spokeswoman, told Bethesda Beat Friday morning that police aren’t releasing additional details until next week.

“They’re giving additional victims time to come forward,” she said.
