Four injured, two seriously, in Gaithersburg crash

Four people were injured in a crash Saturday evening in Gaithersburg.

Four people were injured, two seriously, in a crash Saturday evening in Gaithersburg.

The crash occurred at about 4:20 p.m. on Quince Orchard Road, near Dosh Drive, according to a Twitter post by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.

Two people were trapped in the wreckage and sustained “Priority 1 injuries,” Piringer wrote. Priority 1 injuries are generally considered the most serious, and are often life-threatening.

A third person sustained Priority 2 injuries, and a fourth Priority 3 injuries, Piringer wrote.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. No additional information was available Monday morning.

Both directions of Quince Orchard Road were closed between Twin Lakes Drive and Quince Orchard Boulevard, according to the Montgomery County Department of Emergency Management. The roadway reopened at about 6:35 p.m.
