Woman Injured When Vehicle Overturns on Springer Road in Bethesda

Cause of Monday afternoon crash under investigation

Police work the scene of a vehicle crash Monday afternoon on the 7900 block of Springer Road in Bethesda.

A woman was extracted from an overturned vehicle following a Monday afternoon crash in Bethesda.

The crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. on the 7900 block of Springer Road near Thomas W. Pyle Middle School.

One vehicle was overturned, trapping the female driver. She was extracted and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to a police spokesperson, the driver said she became distracted by a moving object outside of her vehicle. She drifted into an unattended parked car and her car overturned as a result. Her identity age and the extent of her injuries were not immediately released by police. She was the vehicle’s only occupant.

A police vehicle blocked the road until the vehicle was towed from the scene around 5 p.m.

Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
