Eight vehicle thefts, seven commercial burglaries reported in Silver Spring area

Bethesda area (including North Bethesda, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Kensington)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between April 18 and 22. Affected streets included Woodbine Street, Grubb Road, Chevy Chase Lake Drive, Ashboro Drive and Colston Drive. Force was reported in multiple cases.
  • Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between April 19 and 24. Affected streets included the area of St. Elmo Avenue and Old Georgetown Road, Wisconsin Avenue, Arlington Road and Bradley Boulevard. Force was reported in four cases.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles between April 17 and 19. The thefts happened in the 4100 block of Warner Street and the 11100 block of Newport Mill Road.
  • Parts were taken from two vehicles between April 18 and 24. The thefts happened in the 10200 block of Rockville Pike and the 5800 block of Nicholson Lane. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from two vehicles in the 5200 block of River Road between 1:40 p.m. on April 21 and 7:40 p.m. on April 22. Force was reported.
  • Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the 9900 block of River View Court between 8 p.m. on April 17 and 9 a.m. on April 18.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 7400 block of Ridgewood Avenue between 9:15 p.m. on April 18 and noon on April 19.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 10600 block of Parkwood Drive between 9:30 p.m. on April 17 and 7:30 p.m. on April 18. It was recovered on April 24.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 3300 block of Wake Drive between 11 p.m. on April 17 and 8:15 a.m. on April 18. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.

Aggravated assault

  • Two people assaulted a man in the 2400 block of Ross Road early on April 19. One of the attackers displayed a weapon.

Strong-arm robbery

  • Three people stole food from a man and assaulted him in the 3700 block of Jones Bridge Road around 7:30 p.m. on April 21.

Rockville area (including Rockville, North Potomac, Darnestown, Poolesville)

Theft from vehicles

  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the first block of Fedor Avenue around 5:45 a.m. on April 17.

Two vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 12000 block of Parklawn Drive between 8 p.m. on April 14 and 11:18 a.m. on April 23. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with a key inside.
  • A motorcycle was taken in the 15900 block of Frederick Road between 11:30 p.m. on April 18 and 2:45 p.m. on April 19.

Silver Spring area (including Silver Spring, Fairland, Burtonsville)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between April 19 and 24. Affected streets included Colesville Road, Spring Street, Blair Mill Road, Blair Road and 13th Street. Force was reported in four cases.
  • Property and parts were taken from four vehicles between April 21 and 23. Affected streets included the 1900 block of Lyttonsville Road and the 8900 block of 1st Avenue. Force was reported.
  • Money and parts were taken from three vehicles between April 14 and 23. Affected streets included Southampton Drive, Stateside Drive and Parham Road. Force was reported in one case.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the 12300 block of Palermo Drive between noon on April 12 and noon on April 19.
  • Money, property and parts were taken from three vehicles between April 18 and 23. Affected streets included Sheffield Manor Court, Blackburn Lane and Bentley Park Drive. Force was reported in one case.

Vehicle thefts

  • A vehicle was taken in the 8500 block of Fenton Street around 3:15 p.m. on April 20. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running. It was recovered the same day.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue around 2:03 p.m. on April 21. It was reportedly left unlocked and running. The vehicle was recovered on April 23.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8100 block of Georgia Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on April 22. It was reportedly left unlocked and running with the key inside. The vehicle was recovered on April 23.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue around 7:59 p.m. on April 22. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and running. It was recovered on April 23.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8600 block of Colesville Road around 9:09 p.m. on April 21. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked. It was recovered on April 22.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 800 block of Ellsworth Drive around 4:39 p.m. on April 23. A key was reportedly left inside.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 8500 block of Piney Branch Road around 10:25 p.m. on April 21. It was reportedly left unlocked and running.
  • A vehicle was taken in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road between 8:30 p.m. on April 23 and 6:50 a.m. on April 24. It was recovered on April 24.

Commercial burglaries

  • Money was taken from Arat Kilo Market and Restaurant at 818 Easley St. early on April 21. Force was reported.
  • Money and merchandise were taken from Euro Convenience Store at 8429 Georgia Ave. early on April 21. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from Wesenyelesh International Market at 901 Silver Spring Ave. The theft was discovered around 9 a.m. on April 21. Force was reported.
  • Merchandise was taken from Smoke Island at 9439 Georgia Ave. early on April 21. Force was reported.
  • Money was taken from Adarash Market at 8706 Flower Ave. early on April 24. Force was reported.
  • Money and merchandise were taken from The Dollar Store at 8716 Piney Branch Road early on April 24. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from CMI Moulding at 4100 Star Pointe Lane between 5 p.m. on April 16 and 7:30 a.m. on April 19. Force was reported.

Gaithersburg area (including Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village)

Thefts from vehicles

  • Money and property were taken from a vehicle in the first block of McDonald Chapel Court around 6:20 p.m. on April 21.
  • Property and parts were taken from four vehicles between April 18 and 20. Affected streets included Watkins Mill Road, Stedwick Drive, and the area of Brassie Place and Montgomery Village Avenue. Force was reported.
  • Property was taken from a vehicle in the first block of Mallory Court between 2 p.m. on April 18 and 7 a.m. on April 19. Force was reported.

Vehicle theft

  • A vehicle was taken in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle between 7 p.m. on April 17 and 5 a.m. on April 19. A spare key was reportedly left inside.
