Body found in Rockville had ‘advanced decomposition,’ police say

Man was found dead near creek off Gude Drive

The body of a man found Monday afternoon in Rockville was in an “apparent advanced state of decomposition,” according to Montgomery County police.

Police got a call around 4:53 p.m. Monday from a man who was walking his dog on a hiking trail off Gude Drive. The man found the body near a creek, police said in a press release Tuesday evening.

Police did not identify the man who died or provide additional information about him or the circumstances of his death.

Police said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy and try to help identify the man. They are asking anyone with information to call them at 240-773-5070.
