At least two people were seriously injured Wednesday when six vehicles crashed on I-270 in Rockville, according to a Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesman.

Six vehicles crashed in the northbound lanes of I-270 between the Montrose Road and Falls Road interchanges, Fire & Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer posted on Twitter.

One person was pinned in the crash, and at least two were taken to the hospital with injuries considered priority 1, which is the most serious on a scale of 1 to 3.

Piringer could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.

Some lanes on I-270 were closed following Wednesday’s crash, but had reopened by 12:30 p.m.
