Police Blotter: Commercial Burglary at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm Club; Two Strong-Arm Robberies in Silver Spring

Commercial burglary

A commercial burglary occurred at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm club house at 10000 Oaklyn Drive at 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 14. Police released surveillance video of the suspects.

Thefts from vehicles

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Aug. 15 and 21 on Sundale, Lanier and Ellingson drives. No forced entry was reported; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 1 p.m. on Aug. 18 on Broad Brook Drive, Elmhirst Drive, Locust Hill Road, Locust Hill Court, and Rockville Pike. No forced entry was reported; cash and property were taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the 5900 block of Wilmett Road and one theft occurred in the 6000 block of Walton Street in the early morning hours of Aug. 18. Forced entry was reported in multiple events; property was taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 21 in the 10400 block of Rockville Pike and one theft occurred in the 10100 block of Grosvenor Place. Forced entry was reported in one event. Vehicle parts were taken.

Rockville

Thefts from vehicles

Three thefts from vehicles occurred in the 100 – 200 blocks of Hardy Place between 7 p.m. on Aug. 16 and approximately 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 17. No forced entry was reported; cash and property were taken.

Silver Spring

Armed robbery

An armed robbery occurred in the area of Domer and Garland avenues in the early morning hours of Aug. 19. The suspects took a man’s cash and property; one suspect had a weapon.

Commercial robberies

A commercial robbery occurred at The Magic Beauty Spa at 8415 Georgia Ave. at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 17. The suspect, a male in his early 30s, assaulted a female employee and stole cash.

A commercial robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven convenience store at 12257 Tech Road in the early morning hours of Aug. 19. The suspect displayed a weapon and stole cash.

Residential burglaries

A residential burglary occurred in the 9800 block of Gardner Avenue between 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 13 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 16. Forced entry was reported; nothing was taken.

Two residential burglaries occurred on Aug. 20. A burglary occurred in the 2200 block of Musgrove Road between 5:30 a.m. and 5:42 p.m. Forced entry was reported; property was taken. The second burglary occurred in the 12900 block of Ruxton Road between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 20. Forced entry was reported; property was taken.

Attempted residential burglaries

Two attempted residential burglaries occurred in the 9300 block of Warren Street between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Aug. 15 and in the 8700 block of Bradford Road between 12 p.m. on Aug. 10 and 12 p.m. on Aug. 17.

Strong-arm robberies

A strong arm-robbery occurred in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard at 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 17. The suspect assaulted the juvenile male victim and took his cash.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive at 11:05 p.m. on Aug. 17. The suspects, described as a 19-year-old man and two 23-year-old men assaulted another man and took his cash and property.

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred from Aug. 13 to Aug. 21. Affected streets included Leighton Wood Lane, Alton Parkway, Emmet and Schuyler roads, Providence and Gates avenues, Evergreen Street and Oldham Road. Forced entry was reported in one event; cash and property were taken.
