Weekend Events: Fun Run and Breakfast; The Devil Makes Three

City Sports Fun Run – Saturday morning, 9:30 a.m. – City Sports at Pike & Rose

City Sports in Rockville is offering a complimentary breakfast to runners participating in its first-ever “Saturday Fun Run Series,” which starts this weekend. The 3-mile run will be the first hosted by the sporting goods store at its Pike & Rose location at 11600 Old Georgetown Road. The event is free and open to the public. After this week, the event will take place every Saturday for the rest of the month.

National Philharmonic: Haydn’s Surprise Symphony – Saturday night, 8 p.m. – Strathmore

The evening concert by the National Philharmonic will include works by Mozart and Haydn. Cellist Zuill Bailey will perform Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 2. Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 “Prague” is also scheduled and the concluding act will be Haydn’s Symphony No. 94 “Surprise.” The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $37 to $84.

The Devil Makes Three – Friday night – Fillmore Silver Spring

The Devil Makes Three, a folk/bluegrass trio from California known for their enthusiastic live shows, is stopping in at the Fillmore Friday night. Tickets are $25 and available here. The show starts at 8:30 p.m.

Landau Murphy Jr. – Friday night, 8 p.m. – Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club

Landau Murphy Jr., of “America’s Got Talent” fame, is teaming up with former Temptations singer Glenn Leonard for an R&B show Friday night that starts at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $35 and doors open at 6 p.m.

Indoor Flea Market – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Montgomery County Fairgrounds

The indoor flea market at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds kicks off its first day this year on Saturday. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and sells a variety of lightly used or new goods. The market is scheduled to return on Feb. 7 and March 14. Admission is free. The fairgrounds are located at 16 Chestnut Street in Gaithersburg.
