Maryland commuters have a few days left to chime in on proposed High Occupancy Vehicle (HOT) lane tolls.

Organization collects back-to-school items for children in need 

A Montgomery County organization is making sure all students in need start the new school year with confidence and dignity.

In Silver Spring, Heather Foley — the executive director of Silver Spring Cares — and her son, Matt Foley, sorted through dozens of donated, back-to-school supplies that will be given away to needy families who have school-age children. [Fox 5]

Maryland courts requiring masks at all times

Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera has ordered a universal masking mandate, regardless of vaccination status, in all courtrooms and judicial facilities.

The new order, which took effect Monday, applies to everyone except children age 2 and younger. [WJZ]
