Montgomery County man charged with murder in Hagerstown man’s death

A Montgomery County man has been charged with first-degree murder and 18 other counts in connection with the shooting of a Hagerstown man.

Lauron Zacherie Hoyle, 35, of Montgomery Village, was arrested at his home Tuesday afternoon. He was being held in Montgomery County on Friday in connection with the death of Kalen Nathaniel Black, 21, of Hagerstown. [Herald-Mail Media]

Mobile WiFi hotspots available for checkout at libraries

Libraries in Montgomery County have a new program allowing people to check out mobile Wi-Fi hotspots.

Mobile hotspots can be reserved for up to two weeks at a time. [WDVM]

33 county residents graduate from citizen police academy

Thirty-three residents recently graduated from the Montgomery County Police Department’s Citizen Academy — an immersive, 15-week program designed to give participants an understanding of how law enforcement operates. [Patch]
