Montgomery County leads state in reports of hate-bias incidents

Montgomery County tops the state in the number of hate crimes and bias incidents reported in 2019.

That’s according to a report compiled by the Maryland State Police and the state’s Coordination and Analysis Center. [WTOP]

Massage therapist charged with sexual assault

A massage therapist who once gained recognition for helping wounded warriors is now accused of sexual assault.

David Kupferschmid, a licensed massage therapist, was arrested last weekend at his home in Silver Spring and charged with second-degree rape. [NBC 4]

Fire and Rescue helps save Yorkie trapped underneath deck

Montgomery County Fire Rescue was called to help rescue a Yorkie who got trapped underneath a wooden deck Monday evening.

It happened in the area of Galena Road near Randolph Road in Randolph Hills after Montgomery County Animal Services couldn’t help. [WJLA]
