Montgomery County breaks ground on electric bus project

Montgomery County leaders broke ground on Thursday on a microgrid and charging infrastructure project that will enable 44 Ride On buses to transition from diesel power to electric.

Eventually, the Brookville Bus Depot in Silver Spring will support 70 electric buses, leaders said. [Montgomery Community Media]

Officers rescue deer stuck in fence

Two officers on patrol in Montgomery County found themselves face-to-face with a deer trapped between two chain link fences on Wednesday.

The officers worked with Montgomery County Animal Services to rescue the fawn and relocate it to some place safer. [WUSA]

Takoma Park Fire Department rolls out new engine

The Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department has a new engine, which now sits on a lot of the building along Carroll Ave.

Fire officials say there will be a training period before it goes into service. [WDVM]
