While at Montgomery Blair High School, Tommy Raskin’s empathy translated into heavy involvement in school and community organizations.

Raskin — a 2013 Blair graduate who died Dec. 31 — co-founded Blair Leaders Intern for Student Success (BLISS), Blair’s bilingual tutoring program, in 2011. He was also a leader of the Jewish Culture Club and captained the Forensics club from his sophomore to senior years. [Silver Chips]

Convicted bank robber allegedly hit new bank while under surveillance

Detectives investigating two recent bank jobs had locked in on Carisa Cline, 44, who just three months earlier had been released from federal prison after serving a long sentence for bank robbery.

They had set up covert surveillance and say they were following her black sedan when it suddenly pulled into a Wells Fargo parking lot in Gaithersburg. [Washington Post]

Hogan ‘proud’ of Senate Republicans who voted to impeach Trump

Maryland’s Republican governor is praising the seven GOP senators who voted to convict former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial.

“I’m proud of those folks that did take that decision and put the country ahead of the party,” Gov. Larry Hogan said during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday. [WTOP]
