Police put out a photo Monday of a man who fired a gun into the window of a sedan at a Fairland 7-Eleven. Detectives discovered shortly before the shooting the man had entered a nearby hotel and asked for a coat hanger, claiming he was locked out of his vehicle. Police did not find the sedan, but located broken glass from the window. [MC Media]

Former congressman’s presidential campaign lacking funding

John K. Delaney, who represented parts of the county as Maryland 6th District congressman, has raised over $12 million toward his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. That numbers pales in comparison to other candidates, and looks even worse considering $11.7 million came from Delany himself. [Maryland Matters]

Longtime county biopharmaceutical official takes over Canadian firm

With more than 20 years of biopharmaceutical experience, including stints at Gaithersburg-based MedImmune and Rockville-based Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Ryan Goldleaf will become CEO of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. Goldleaf will succeed Richard Glickman on April 29 at the company that has made advances in drugs targeting autoimmune diseases that affect the kidneys. [Washington Business Journal]
