I-270 ramp meters will fully activate on Wednesday
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is fully activating new ramp meters on I-270 in Montgomery County on Wednesday.
The traffic control system, which will cover 23 ramps to southbound I-270 in Montgomery and Frederick counties, has gone through testing since late June. [Montgomery Community Media]
General Assembly committee approves mask mandate in public schools
By a 10-7 vote, a Maryland General Assembly joint committee approved a mask mandate for all public schools in the state.
Sen. Sarah K. Elfreth, a co-chair of the committee, said the measure took effect immediately. [WJZ]
Nonprofits can apply for Watershed Restoration and Outreach Grants
Nonprofit organizations, such as local watershed groups, community associations, faith-based organizations, service and civic groups, can apply for grants ranging from $30,000 to $100,000.
