Director to discuss HBO documentary ‘The Crime of the Century’ with Rockville

The city of Rockville will host an exclusive virtual conversation with contributors to the HBO documentary “The Crime of the Century,” including Emmy- and Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney, on Sept. 18.

The event will be part of Rockville Goes Purple, the city’s monthlong campaign in September to bring awareness to the national impact of opioid addiction. [City of Rockville]

About 25% of state’s rental assistance funds have been paid out or processed

About $100 million of the $401 million in rental assistance funds that the state has received from the federal government this year have been paid out or processed, according to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.

Of the $401 million, $143 million was provided directly to the state’s eight largest jurisdictions and $258 million was allocated directly to the department. [Maryland Reporter]
