County Man Pleads Guilty in Second Dating App Sexual Assault Case

County man pleads guilty in second dating app sexual assault case

Colin Sime Black, 35, of Rockville, pleaded guilty to another count of second-degree sexual offense following his conviction for the same crime by a county Circuit Court jury in late June. Black faced three trials for alleged assaults that occurred following meet-ups through the dating app Tinder. The third case is currently inactive.  [Local DVM]

Weather knocks out county emergency system

The radio communications operation has struggled over the past month, and it lost connectivity once again as Thursday afternoon’s storms arrived. The system wasn’t out for long, but Acting Assistant Police Chief Dinesh Patil said the officers “do not know the root cause at this time,” in a department email.  [ABC7]

County looking for Board of Appeals candidates

The County Council has two spots to fill, and will be taking applications through July. The terms of Stan Boyd and Bruce Goldensohn will expire in September, and neither plan to reapply.  [WTOP]
