Council proposes bill making county responsible for shoveling some sidewalks

Residents and business owners are responsible for clearing snow and ice off their sidewalks within 24 hours following a snowfall.

County leaders urge Asian American community to preregister for vaccine

During a virtual town hall-style meeting for the Asian American community Tuesday night, Montgomery County leaders discussed the importance of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Participants in the meeting were urged to preregister for vaccination, even though the current supply is limited. [WTOP]

State board approves testing all students on math, English in spring

Maryland students — learning in-person or online — will have to take statewide standardized tests this spring, but the results won’t carry any consequences for students or schools.

The state school board voted Tuesday to start using the new Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program in math and English, but will drop other tests in social studies and science from the schedule. [Baltimore Sun]
