County executives say ‘healthy competition’ can drive climate change policies

Less than a month after remnants of Hurricane Ida tore through Annapolis and inundated parts of Maryland with floods, county executives met to discuss how local leaders can counter the climate crisis and educate residents on climate issues.

Local governments may have plans to combat climate change, but there also needs to be stable funding sources to implement those plans, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich said. [Maryland Matters]
