Barve decides against bid for comptroller

Del. Kumar P. Barve (D-Montgomery) has decided not to enter the race for comptroller next year.

Because the state’s current tax collector, Peter V.R. Franchot (D) is running for governor, there will be no incumbent in the 2022 race for comptroller. [Maryland Matters]

D.C. man accused of attempted murder in Takoma Park

A Washington, D.C., man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a Dec. 1 shooting in Takoma Park.

Alphonzo Marki Fluellyn, 21, of Sheridan St. NW, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a loaded handgun. [Montgomery Community Media]
