Some pain as Purple Line construction continues

Residents were warned to expect “intrusive” disruption as tunnels are bored for the Purple Line. Nearly a year after a groundbreaking that had been held up by a lawsuit, hundreds of workers are now spread across the 16-mile, $2 billion project that will connect New Carrollton, College Park, Silver Spring and Bethesda. In Silver Spring, crews have tunneled about 150 feet, a process expected to continue through spring, sometimes requiring blasting. [WTOP]
