Bethesda ZIP codes are among the lowest in Montgomery County when comparing COVID-19 cases to population.

The 20818 Cabin John ZIP code had the lowest rate in the county — 61 people per case of COVID-19.

The 20816 Bethesda ZIP code was next, with 49 people per case.

Other Bethesda ZIP codes 20817, with 38 people per case, and 20814, with 32 people per case.

Beallsville in northwest Montgomery County has the highest number of COVID-19 cases compared to population — one case per 8 people, or 12.5% of its population of 100.

There have been 12 confirmed cases in Beallsville.

The next highest is a section of Silver Spring — ZIP code 20903 — with one case per 12 people, or 8% of the population of 26,206. There have been 2,124 cases in the ZIP code.

In third is a tie among areas in Gaithersburg and Silver Spring — ZIP codes 20877, 20902, 20906 — each with one case per 14 people.

On Monday morning, Montgomery County recorded 460 new confirmed cases — an increase of 0.9% — bringing the total number of cases the county has had to 51,527.

The Maryland Department of Health reported three additional confirmed deaths from the virus overnight in the county. Montgomery’s death toll is now at 1,140.

There have been 43 “probable” deaths. “Probable” deaths have the coronavirus listed as the cause on certificates but have not been confirmed by laboratory tests yet.

Across the state, the number cases increased Monday morning by 3,012 — or 1% — for a new total of 309,686.

There have been 6,129 people confirmed to have died from the virus in Maryland and 1,957 people who are currently hospitalized with it.

The state is administering two-dose vaccines in Phase 1A: 139,506 people have received a first dose and 6,666 people have received a second dose.

In the National Capital Region — including Montgomery, Prince George’s Frederick, and Charles counties — 33,894 people have received a vaccine dose, or 1.4% of the population. The state does not break down vaccine data for the region by first and second doses.
