The 16-mile light-rail line beginning in Bethesda will have artwork at all 21 stations, making them more pleasing to look at but also to highlight the surrounding communities. The downtown Bethesda station will have  a pink and yellow cherry blossom design, while the historically African American Lyttonsville community of Silver Spring will get a “sculptural photo album” of residents. The Maryland Transit Administration has a $6 million art budget. [Washington Post]

Glen Echo Park holds LGBTQ Family Day

The event included arts and crafts, refreshments and free carousel rides. County council member Evan Glass hosted the gathering. “I wanted our residents and our families to be able to celebrate Pride Month right here in Montgomery County,” Glass said.  [WTOP]
