2018 Election Guide Archives | Bethesda Magazine

Bethesda Beat has gathered biographical information from candidates running for Montgomery County executive and council, as well as the congressional and Maryland General Assembly seats representing Montgomery County and for other county offices. Only a few candidates did not respond after multiple attempts to reach them.

In a second round of questions, candidates were asked about what they think are important issues in each race and why they are qualified for the position.

Candidates for Republican and Democratic nominations and in nonpartisan races in the June 26 primary election are included. They are listed in alphabetical order, grouped by political party.

A school board primary for a seat will be held only if there are at least three candidates. Otherwise, candidates advance to the general election.

The filing deadline for the primary was Feb. 27.

This guide will be updated after the primary to reflect all candidates running in the Nov. 6 general election.

Early voting for the primary will be open June 14 to 21.
