Rockville officials to hold meeting on Beltway, I-270 proposals

Rockville residents can learn more about ideas for easing congestion on the Beltway and Interstate 270 during a Tuesday evening city meeting.

City officials will gather at 7 p.m. at the Rockville Senior Center at 1150 Carnation Drive in Rockville.

Gov. Larry Hogan last year proposed adding toll lanes to the two major highways, and the state has been studying options for expanding capacity ever since. The alternatives to Hogan’s plan include adding general use lanes, increasing transit service and building reversible lanes.

Cloudy skies to start the week, with sun later on

The area could see some rain showers early in the week, with high temperatures in the 80s. Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to be sunny and hot, but clouds could return Friday, and the chance of showers with them.
