The new neighborhood restaurant The Dish & Dram is scheduled to open Nov. 11 in Kensington.
Zena Polin and Jerry Hollinger, owners of the Silver Spring restaurant The Daily Dish, are behind the new concept, which was announced in the spring. It’s their second restaurant.
The restaurant will serve comfort food with “international flavors,” according to Polin.
“It will have a tighter, more-focused menu than the Daily Dish,” Polin said Thursday.
She said diners can expect menu items such Ossobuco, steak frites, fish tacos, and a traditional British ploughman’s lunch with smoked ham, brie and chutney. The restaurant will also serve up house-made desserts. There will be six local beers on tap in addition to cocktails and wine.
The 2,800-square-foot restaurant fills the former Sub*Urban Trading Space at 10301 Kensington Parkway. Polin had originally hoped to open in mid-July, but permitting and other renovation issues caused delays.
The interior has a bar area with two TVs and high top cocktail tables, and a dining room that’s going to cater to “a more quiet evening with friends or family,” Polin said. The space can serve about 85 people.
The restaurant will also offer a weekend brunch and happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Polin said they’re planning to start the brunch service Nov. 19.
